In American college football a "Spring Game" is a game played in the middle of the off-season between the 1st string Offense and 2nd string Defense vs. the 1string defense and 2ns string offense. It is a culmination of the end of spring practice to give the coaches a chance to see which players can perform in a real game situation and know who should go into summer training camp as the starters. Buts really a chance for the supporters to get thier first shot at the new players (because obviosly in college sports there is a big influx of change in players every year with 1/4 of the team graduating) The university of Alabama drew a record 92,000 for their spring game this year, which is just effing nuts if you ask me.

Anyway got me thinking, wonder what the Liverpool FC spring game would look like if Gerrard and Carra each got to pick a team with Carra getting first pick. (obviously the transfer window could feck these teams up a bit)

I guess i wasnt very consistant with which players I was considering being allowed to play on the team concerning loans and who we have coming into the club and who is leaving vs. probably leaving

If you're picking the 1st string Offense (or Mid/forwards in English

) and 2nd string Defense vs. the 1st string defense and 2nd string offense then shouldn't it look more like this?:

yes thats true, but because in football all the players are on the pitch all of the time i just picked the teams like it was a playground game. The 1st string offense would be in the advantage in the spring game system because in a 442 there are 6 offensive players compared to 5 defenders.

oh also forgot the most important thing WHO would win!? I'll give it to Gerrards side 2-1 with Gerrard, Kuyt scoring and Crouch with a header from Pennant or Kewell. anybody with any thoughts players that should have been taken much earlier or later?
