Lets be honest here......there's no love lost between us and the "scum"...i couldn't give a fukk about manure fans getting a "good bashing" by the Italians.....they have only themselves to blame...you dont go into someone elses "back yard" and start shouting the odds?.to be honest i had a wry smile on my face when i saw the footage....and i believe they got a good pasting outside the stadium by the "Ultras"....ha ha' serves em right!.

I think Chelsea will score in Valencia but the way Valencia set up was to keep the game level then go at Chelsea in the 2nd leg. I fancy Valencia to win 3-1 over there.

The mancs still have a lot of work to do. Like its been posted the media are already presuming the mancs are through but i dont believe that for one minute. Roma are a good attacking side and i fancy them to get a goal at Old Trafford.

Obviously Sky after the game were making out as if manure have won the CL already.

Well I do give a fu.ck about the fact the police are continually allowed to beat the hell out of people and UEFA/FIFA whoever permit this scandal to persist.
I was in Rome 1984 and I experienced first hand the Hooligan police force.
I was attacked by the little shi.thouse cowards on mopeds, threatened with a knife etc. before and after the game. The square, close by to where the coaches were parked, was like a battleground.
It is incredible how the powers that be have not implemented a complete ban on Italy taking part in UEFA competitions until they get their house in order.Change will never happen until the G14 group threaten UEFA to sort it or we withdraw and create a super league, because money is the only language and the fans mean sh.it all to UEFA.
THERE'S A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW SHINING AT THE END OF EVERY DAY.
THERE'S A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW AND TOMORROW IS JUST A DREAM AWAY.

You've got to love how Man U have switched the blame even before anything happened by releasing that statement which was only ever going to serve as motivation for the Italians.

That way they can now self-pityingly play the victims, something which they continually accuse Liverpool for.

if fans charge the police , they deserve to get battered.

Didn't they complain about French police last round.

Yeah - its everyone else's fault. They deserved what they got.

Bad place Italy glad we didnt have to go there again.

Heres a vid of the fighting it kicked off an hour before these are saying.

Just watched the clip. That guy got a good beating and deserved it. Well done to the police.

If you were innocent you wouldn't be right up there in their faces.

Delighted. I wish I'd joined the Rome police force yesterday :D

This is the point that I was trying to make, that its not that Man Utd fans were right or wrong, but the fact the Italians STILL haven't learnt crowd control before, during or after a game nor have they sorted out their racism problem nor broken the hooligan gangs. Thats why I'm worried about meeting Italian sides in teh final 'cos I know it will be the same, even if 99.9% of the english fans behave they will always find the boozers and troublemakers to kick off with. And I dont want Manc or Cockney troublemakers down there to avenge Rome etc.. as at Heysel. The consequences are too dire to even think about.

Totally agree Big Niall

I read on teletext that the LMA vice president thinks that the conclusion may be to kick THE team out of Europe....aren't thee two clubs equally to blame for last night??

It may sound harsh given how many Mancs were hurt and all but it doesn't look like they did much to calm the situation. The police there are nuts to be fair...they won't be trying that again i'm sure

And in response to the topic....Viva Valencia and Forza Roma!!!

Man U rarely come from behind after the first leg and the Italians obession with defence will make them a tough nut to crack at Old Trafford and i think Valencia can easily beat Chelsea at home....I think we can beat any one of the teams that are left in the final

I was obviously cheering for Roma, and united are lucky to still be in the tie, they were outplayed but for the goal on the counter and should of at least lost by two.
Its a decent result for them but not perfect, they are still a goal down-to a dangerous side and without Scholes who makes the midfield tick.
With the other semi i would prefer Chelsea, it would get our fans right up for it again, and we have outplayed them 4 times on the bounce, counting the semi of last seasons fa cup and the community shield.
Valencia looked strong though and will fancy there chances at home, Chelsea just dont seem to have any balance compared with the previous two seasons, and there best chances last night were through long hopeful punts...something that we would be fine with.

just on that, how come he's only got a one match ban for a red card? basically he's received no greater punishment than he did for getting a yellow.

Also the first yellow he got last night was going to make him miss the next match anyway, but I just saw that he will only miss one game even though he got a red as well. ???

UNF'UCKING BELIEVABLE

I'm constantly amazed at the amount of kunts in here .

O.K, WE DON'T LIKE THE MANCS ,

But anyone with even half a brain can see that the italian police were well over the top and many innocent football fans  had the sh'it beaten out of them .  So what if they supported Man U ? . Next time WE play in Italy and the police wade into us are you gonna make the same half a'rsed one eyed remarks ?

Some of you need to f'ucking grow up .

Exactly right and well said!

The UTD fans charged at a police line which only a few months ago had a colleague murdered by football hooligans.
The fans vastly outnumbered the police in the stadium,so what exactly are they to do? say 'Excuse me would you mind going back to your seat sir'?

The police done exactly as they had to at the time and beat them back with their battons....Yes they are vicious and take no sh.it,they deal with hooligans regularly and know exactly what works..it was the only way to calm the crowd and restore a bit of normality!

I have not an ounce of sympathy for any UTD fan that got bashed last night, they brought it on themselves and experienced a lesson that will make sure they behave the next time they go to watch their team!

Its simple...Dont charge at Italian (or any for that matter)police lines and when your at a football match watch the game!

Cant believe some of the comments on here about the police being'heavy handed'.
They defended themselves from being overrun by a crowd of scumbags..fair play to them!
Fergies reason for saying nothing?...He knows his fans brought it on themselves!

Well my family members and friends made it back safe and sound from the game, and after speaking to them it seems the M.U fans were not completely innocent  they say they didnt start it but they still manged to rip up seats and throw them at the police ( although they didnt say if that was before or after they received their beating )

What ever your feelings towards fans of other teams there is now way that the brutality of the police should be aplauded they went well over the top and to indicate that "they blamed us for heysel"  so it serves them right is just as childish as them saying it.

As i watched it unfold last night and my only thought ( after worrying if people i know were caught up in it ) was "There but for the grace of god"

I hate M.U with a passion but the treatment they received as ENGLISH football fans was assault by a police force trying to show that they will not tolerate any trouble by fans ( pity they dont adopt last nights approach a bit closer to home)  :no
