What? £15.00 for top notch wine? I've been on corporate meals with work and flash bastard manager types have been ordering £80.00 bottles and all that business!!!!

I'll have a look at that Knutsford gaff, Wool.

in restaurants they make a collossal mark-up on wines, particularly when they see the company credit card come out. i think to pay £20 in a restaurant will get you a perfectly good red; there's a very good italian down the road from here where you can get a barolo (VERY good italian red) for around 20 notes

anyone who pays £80 is either a)a pointlessly anal connoisseur, b) pointlessly rich and just chooses the most expensive on the wine list just cos they can c) on a company credit card or d) stupid

Woof, take it easy, please. What's really the matter? No one is having a go at you. You're kicking off over nothing.

Take you're coat back off, hang it up, sit down and breathe. Fact is Sabre and Peewee were put forward by the existing team cause we felt they were the best choices. I actually put forward another member who got rejected. Big deal. Do you hear me complaining?

Peewee appears to be able to spot dickheads on here a mile off and is on here when me Supersub and St Mick aren't able to. When the Big fella comes back, he'll be able to man the night shift with him. Mick appears to be settling into a new life in New Zealand though and we haven't seen him for a bit. He'll be back.

Forget about Sabre's signature, forget about who he supports. It's not really that important. He's a moderator on a Spanish Sociedad forum and can do the job. He has everybodies respect as far as I can see and has been around long enough and contributed some good stuff and can be trusted as far as I can see by the existing moderating team.

And when was the last time you saw me post something about football on here? Point is I'm not really motivated to any more that often. I was always a complainer about Houllier in my early days on this board, and contributed thousands of decent posts on football. I loved it on here. The fact it's going so fucking well for us lately has stopped me posting a lot about football side of things because we're getting our act together after years of disappointment and I feel I got a lot off my chest when Ged the Clown left.

So my argument is technically, I could not be a Liverpool fan yet still moderate these boards, cause that's what I might as well be doing at the minute. Silly point to make but I was just getting in first before someone else pointed out the last time I posted on a football topic was 2004.

We've chosen Sabre and that's all there is to it. We were being moaned at to get more mods. We got them. Call it a day looking for a rise from someone though. It's not worth it. Sorry you were overlooked if that's what it was about.

When the day comes I hand my stripes back, there will be a position going if that's what this is about. You'd be more than welcome to the job mate and then you'd see it's not about who posts the best or most, or who kisses who's arse. Frankly mate, I'm used to it now, but peewee and Sabre can look forward to lots of cleaning other peoples mess up. I worked it out today that I spend an hour a week on average lately deleting posts. Now Peewee and Sabre are here, that will be more like ten minutes.

End of the day, we've made the right decision. If it carries on getting worse with problem members, we'll hire more moderators.

Just cool it though mate. You're running the risk of having strong words with Sabre, AB and JBG in this thread and it's something I don't want to happen. Sorry if this has sounded patronising and I mean no disrespect, but we've made our choices and that's the end of it.

"So fúcking what" is very offensive? I've listened that to english friends, and I've listened that in films. And never saw in real life an angry reaction to that phrase. My point is that I might get wrong my english, but never meant to offend. You perfectly know that I treated you with the outmost respect in the PM I wrote you to say I understand your point.

Oof, the wine. On my second glass of the first bottle.

I'm gonna do a second bottle in. The night is yet young. Should have seen what happened to me last Friday. Left work at 5pm, got home at about 10am Saturday morning. There was heavy, heavy drinking involved. And women. Glorious women.

Right now though I'm in my house so I will probably end up here. Unless my mates phone me in about an hour and tell me they're staying up bevvying all night after the pub has thrown them out. Usual Friday night protocol round my way.
