Reds reveal huth deal - The 6th youngster!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Liverpool have confirmed that they beat Wednesday night's transfer deadline to sign Paraguayan teenager Ronald Huth.

The defender has moved to Anfield on a two-and-a-half year deal after opting to leave his former employers Tacuary FC.

The signing of the 17-year-old was the final step in Rafa Benitez's mission to infuse his squad with a wealth of young talent in January, following the signings of Jordy Brouwer, Astrit Ajdarevic, Daniele Padelli, Emiliano Insua and Francisco Duran.

Any potential work permit issues for The Reds' latest deal have been avoided by virtue of the fact that Huth holds an Italian passport.

The defender now becomes the only Paraguayan currently plying his trade in the English top flight as he looks to continue his education on Merseyside

--------------

Thats 6 youngsters that have come in in January alone!

Hats off to Rafa for trying to scout the best young talent out there and maybe next year will will have a reserve squad to rival arsenals

Well, even for the sceptics out there, if we play the numbers game, at least one of these is gonna turn into something special!

Hi folks,

tried to start a new thread, but don't have the right to do it.

Just a short one about one of your youngsters, Adam Hammill.
he's on loan up here at the pars, and today he showed exactly why he was given a new contract with the pool recently. Was absolutely outstanding today. Ripped the urine out of Hearts. took afew hard ones but picked himself up and got on with ripping it some more. great attitude great skills. love it if we could get him next season - if we manage to stay up!!!

heres what is getting said about his performance today.

FFS get young Adam back , there comparing him to Istvan Kozma . The lad doesn't stand a chance up there. They must of had some really sh!te players up there if Kozma was a legend.  :D  :D  :D

I hope all this signings are for good. From a traditional youth system work ponit of view, too many signings for my taste. And in the meantime I'm watching Barragan in the England-Spain sub21. We did a good work with him only so that others pick up the fruit of our work. He should be Finnan's natural substitution, IMHO.

A Paraguayan.  Is Rafa trying to have a spanish language takeover or what?

I've got a sense of humour and he's a cracking manager but there's some deja vu with Houllier's french intake?

Antiguoko is a club in San Sebastian that only works with players until they're 16. Traditionally they've been one of our sources of youth system players.

Ivan Campo, Arteta or Alonso have come from there.

Why is this relevant? Because I've known this morning that they are planning to break the direct relationship with Real Sociedad and they're negotiating with LFC.

Good news for you lot, bad news for Real Sociedad.
