Metalhead, you do realize they are being ironic, right?

They're taking the p!ss because we've been taking the p!ss about their ill-gotten gains for the past couple of years.

It was fun while it lasted but we can no longer smugly sit back and cast aspersions on Roman's roubles or mock "Man USA", safe in the knowledge that LFC is a family club as well as a footballing institution. Brace yourself folks...the blow-back has begun! :oops:

Read the reactions to the original post and it's clear that it's meant to be ironic. They even give one fella stick for criticizing the original post as though it were serious. I'm telling you, we're in for a lot of "witty" jabs now that we've let the Yanks in (not that we had any choice but to get our own sugar-daddies!

How is this takeover similar to chelsea's? We have money now yes, but all this means is our stadiums paid for and our debts are cleared we dont have the limitless pocket that chelsea have to offer, in that respect there is no contest, Abramovich is loaded, we aint and neither are man utd, ironic comment? no, typical chav DEFINATELY !

Chelsea fans need to remember that Liverpool will be run as a business, meaning careful responsible spending. Not like Chelsea who are used as a merely a plaything. What happens when the Russian moves on and Chelsea are forced to ditch their players and their huge wage bill?

I've read a lot of online comments and people are saying LFC would now become the new Chelsea in which we practically are buying trophies and championship with the newfound money now. Not sure where this is coming from but from the writer point of view, this means they agreed that Chelsea is in fact had bought their Championship with unlimited amount of cash. I think the reality is that now other club knows we have money to spend and will certainly jack up their prices. But the difference here between Chelsea and LFC would be the way we spend our money. IF we are being careful and not overpaying (21million pounds for SWP etc.) for players, we could care less of what other people say. I think rafa is not stupid and from the way he handled the talks with Lucas Neil, Simao etc. we know we are in good hands as Rafa will not pay anything that he thinks is fair market value.

People who are going to compare us with Chelsea is surely sour grapes and ignorant. The fact still remains is that we have our history and tradition. It's not like we suddenly became a success because of vast amount of cash like they did. Also, our fans are mostly died hard fans in which we support our club no matter if they win or loses. As for most Chelsea fans, most of them are bangwagon fans and could not name even 1 player from their team 10 years ago. So, for them, once the cash stops, fans will leave but for us, we will always have the best fans in the world. :buttrock

Remember last season or two , JM fail to sign SG, after that he "attack" SG and telling the world that SG have made a wrong decision to stay with Liverpool.

But Rafa ( smart man ) say that the only reason why JM/Chelsea are not happy is because they are worry about Liverpool, They are worry about they can't beat us.

And now they are worry again.

Can't wait for next season to start with some new signing ( as for me I would like to see Kompamy and Lukas Podolski)
