Liverpool fc always seem to drag things on for so long and :censored: about..The DIC are not just wealthy people, they are a highly successful and proffesional consortium who will not stand for anyone pi$$ing about with them.

How f#cking arrogant of the board to :censored: around and assume that DIC would simply wait for us to come back with an answer whenever we were ready.

Same stupidity saw Macca go for free, saw Owen leave for a pittance, and now a great investor f#cking off.

yup I agree...my first thought is that Moores try a bluff hoping to raise more but DIC don't buy it...but let's reserve judgement until more news filters in

...but as a fan, it'll be a real disaster and I'll be frekin pi$$ed if the board screw this up again :veryangry

DIC have every right to pull out of the deal. We were 99.9% of the way there with Moores and the board having given them verbal agreement on the deal only for us to turn round at the last minute and stall!! Absolute nonsense if you ask me. The board should act in the best interests of the club and not there own f*ckin pockets!!

sky and bbc say DIC pulled out and i'm in complete agreement with st mick - i dont blame them - 2 months of fannying about and then as soon as a rival bid comes in its.... sorry dic, we cant accept your formal bid.

------------------------
sky sports:

Dubai International Capital have pulled the plug on their proposed takeover of Liverpool.

The decision comes after Liverpool's board failed to accept the Dubai group's bid on Tuesday evening.

Owner and chairman David Moores and board members met in London to discuss DIC's bid and also an improved offer from American George Gillett.

Gillett had an initial offer rejected in December but upped his bid just as it looked as DIC were set to complete a takeover.

DIC hoped to make a formal bid via the stock exchange next week after completing due diligence.

However, The Reds' inability to rubber stamp the deal disappointed DIC officials who have now pulled out of the deal.

"Dubai International Capital LLC today announces that it has decided to end negotiations with Liverpool FC & Athletic Grounds plc about a possible investment in the club," a statement read.

"Having completed due diligence, DIC submitted a comprehensive offer to the Liverpool board.

"The offer had been accepted in principle by majority shareholder David Moores. It appears that the Liverpool board and the majority shareholder David Moores were unable to approve these terms in order to allow DIC to make a formal offer to all shareholders."

bbc:

Consortium pulls out of Reds bid

Dubai International Capital has pulled out of proposed takeover of Liverpool.
The announcement follows the failure of the club's board to formally accept DIC's bid in the wake of a second offer from American George Gillett.

DIC claimed the offer had been accepted in principle by majority shareholder David Moores but they were unable to make a formal offer to shareholders.

DIC chief executive Sameer Al Ansari said the group was disappointed but added: "We won't overpay for assets."

The BBC's sports editor Mihir Bose believes Sheikh Mohammed was angry with Liverpool's courting with American tycoon George Gillett who is expected to make a revised takeover bid.

Bose said: "Mohammed is a very angry man and that is why he has pulled out. He was given assurances by Liverpool that they would go with them but the talk of other offers has unsettled him and he has pulled out.

"DIC saw this as business enterprise but Gillett has told Liverpool that they are a sports franchise and they know how to run sports operations.

"With Gillett it won't be like an Roman Abramovich deep pockets scenario."

I doubt that Moores and Parry could me more incompetent.

The club had to go cap in hand and beg people to invest in Liverpool and the only guys that would take a look where the Dubai Group.

So we get into bed with them and after courtship go down the isle and suddenly someone else catches our eye and we are looking elsewhere. What the hell did they think would happen? They where bound to ditch us after that right?

If these two idiots end up with nothing they have cost us the new stadium and serious investment and should walk away from Anfield. I doubt the board will allow them to continue in their roles and a vote of no confidence will surely come to pass.

For the love of god I hope they have a serious plan B because this is an absolute farce

I dont think thats certain.  I think they were very interested but that doesnt mean they can just sit back and watch the club court LFC to a rival bidder.  DIC gave LFC more than enough time to agree terms and nothing was done.

exactly.  Its not like there was numerous interested parties.  The club has been looking for investment for ages and struggled to get any interest.  DIC looked like the ticket to me yet somehow we have screwed it up.
