West Ham move for Wright-Phillips
From the BBC

Chelsea have hinted they will look seriously at West Ham's offer
West Ham have made an approach to buy Chelsea's out-of-favour winger Shaun Wright-Phillips, and are thought to be willing to pay £10m.
"There has been interest from West Ham and they have officially approached us," Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon said on Friday.

"We're not looking to sell our players but if we get an offer we'll have to look at it on a serious basis."

Chelsea bought Wright-Phillips, 25, for £21m from Manchester City in July 2005.
                      ---------------------------
As Pennant has failed to deliver up to now should we now go for Wright-Phillips  (If Chelsea would sell to us)and try to offload Pennant ?

I think we could perhaps get £4-5 million for Pennant off West Ham lol, if we snatched  Wright-Phillips away from them. Wright-Phillips  would also be cover for Finnan as he has played WB and full back before.

in all seriousness, i would love swp here. i did love swp before he went to chelski, and have done since. to be honest i dont think chelsea would sell him to us. to west ham yes, to liverpool no. its all about direct competition. they will not sell swp to us. fact.

He could be good at LFC, but I doubt Chelsea will sell him to us or that West Ham would sell him to us after they themselves bought him.

i really think we have potentially the best RW in the premierleague (ie...bellamy).

He is fast.

He can take players on.

He can score goals.

We don't need another RW...

This old chestnut.

It didn't work with Cisse, It didn't work with Diouf and it didn't work with Heskey.

I doubt it would work with Bellamy either.

I dont know about this one, if we didnt have Pennant i would have said yes. But we have a winger who imo still has to show his full potential. But good luck to West Ham if they do get the wee man.

his far better than pennant.  pretty sad that a club like west ham can spend 10 mil on swp while even if we did wat him, the money isnt there.

How funny, Pennant's not even been given a fair crack of the whip and already there are cries to sell him. Where have all the fans with a decent knowledge and brain gone, I miss those supporters. Shaun  Wright-Phillips would be a great addition to our team, he's better player than Pennant, but having shelled out for Pennant not even five months ago, it seems pretty lame to give up on him, especially when Cisse and Morientes got almost two years to prove themselves.
Chelsea won't sell Shaun Wright-Phillips to us, not for £10,000,000 anyway.

Why would we want someone who only went to chelsea in the first place purely for the money, whilst like mikz says he isnt good enough for them, so as far as im concerned hes not good enough for us. Plus, he didnt wanna join us, and all players we sign are fans of the club first and foremost

so u believe every livrpool player supported them as a boy?  i think u need a reality check.  SWP went to chelsea and believed he could make it there.  why does he gt criticised for that. chelsea paid an amount no one could. SWP didnt have a choice of clubs to go to.
