England squad against netherlands

International Football/Football World Wide - General Discussion

The full England squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers:

Paul Robinson (Tottenham)
Chris Kirkland (Wigan)
Ben Foster (Man Utd)

Defenders:

Gary Neville (Man Utd)
Phil Neville (Everton)
Micah Richards (Man City)
Rio Ferdinand (Man Utd)
John Terry (Chelsea)
Ledley King (Tottenham)
Jamie Carragher
Wes Brown (Man Utd)
Michael Dawson (Tottenham)
Ashley Cole (Chelsea)
Wayne Bridge (Chelsea)

Midfielders:

Aaron Lennon (Tottenham)
Shaun Wright-Phillips (Chelsea)
Steven Gerrard
Frank Lampard (Chelsea)
Michael Carrick (Man Utd)
Scott Parker (Newcastle)
Jermaine Jenas (Tottenham)
Joe Cole (Chelsea)
Stewart Downing (Middlesbrough)

Strikers:

Wayne Rooney (Man Utd)
Peter Crouch
Jermain Defoe (Tottenham)
Darren Bent (Charlton)
Andrew Johnson (Everton)

No David James which i think is terrible. He has been on good form this year and for him not to be called up and likes off Man utd's Ben Foster to be there i think is diabolical.

Again theres no Gareth Barry Who i think is one of the best lm in the premiership.

more interruptions  :no

i hope Rafa has got more than one eye on this Richards lad. he would be a fantastic addition to our squad imo and exactly the kind of strength and ability suited to this clubs premiership ambitions.

Agree on Gareth Barry Richard, he's consistently impressive for Villa and never gets a look in, should have gone to the World Cup and started IMO. Downing is a good player, but I'd find space for Barry and drop one of the numerous centre-halves in the squad. Barry can play at LB as well of course.

What is the f*cking point in another friendly?

McClaren is a gimp, and will only play the same f*cking team he has done so far. Just like Eriksson. No invention, no alterations.

Just the same sh*t, different day.  :no

As a side note, why don't they call up a smaller squad for these meaningless games? Why does Carragher have to go when it's obvious he's not in the Manc c*nt's plans?

W*nker.

Damn.

Manhattan's prediction of a 3-1 victory for the Netherlands would have come true if Holland didn't have those two goals disallowed, even though they were clearly onside and the ref had taken bribes to ensure a 1-1 scoreline.

Spot on Red , get a bid in quick , deffo on of the best defensive prospects around his price tag is gonna skyrocket soon (if it hasn't already)

Considering his age he did a first rate job up against Robben in the holland game. He's big, strong, quick and seems to have a lot of bite.  I'd love to see this lad being groomed at LFC as a successor to Finnan (who's not getting any younger).

A full back isn't high on our priority list.

A midfielder who can control a game, old fashioned wingers and any striker who can score 20 league goals are much higher.

Funny, you play one game for England and all of a sudden LFC should buy you, how long before he gets the "world class" tag? 10 caps seems to be the going rate.

I think a full-back is high on our priority list as we have no cover for finnan at the moment.  Its also about time we bought someone that is actually going to mount a serious challenge for Finnans position.  The likes of kromkamp, Josemi were always just cover but we need better than that, someone who can get forward too.

Also, i know what you are saying about Micah Richards but Liverpool havnt just been on the alert since his call-up to the england squad.  He has been linked for a while now and not surprising considering he is only 18.

Dont like to disagree but we also have three midfielders in alonso, Gerrard and Sissoko who can control games.  what we lack is someone in the McManaman role who can run at players, create openings and link up with the strikers.

We have also just bought two 'old fashioned' wingers in Pennant and Gonzalez, they just havnt lived up to expectations as yet. It may be because they arent quite good enough or bedding in process etc etc.. but it may also be because we dont know how to play with wingers.

I meant two "good" wingers!

Also, Alonso's form has been very poor, SG has a good engine but cannot control a game at a high level (see international football) and Sissoko is good at winning the ball - no creativity.

Anybody know where we can buy a  younger version of Paul Scholes (the only England midfielder since Gascoigne to be creative)?
