There have been a couple of threads started over the last couple of days. I'm not having a go at all at the members who started them, far from it. It's a public forum and all that, and we're all friends here.

It's just that they concern our Captain and some troubles he may be having in his private life.

I just want to say if you haven't seen the threads already, tough shit becasue I'm deleting them and any of the off-topic comments in the said threads are now confined to history as well.

The moderators have had a complaint from a member about the said threads and I personally agree with the sentiment. So I'm acting on it whether the general opinion is agreement or not. I'm big enough to take the flak. But hear me out.

All the evidence pointing to the issue is just tabloid gossip and rumour. In today's high profile game, this does happen. There was an alleged 'roasting' incident a couple of years ago that we decided as a forum we wouldn't talk about and that wasn't even about our club, like that should matter anyway.

There are also legal implications for this site as I'm sure you're aware. The internet is a big place. If you're that arsed about reading about this issue I'm talking about, and I think we all know what I'm talking about, you're only a couple of clicks away.

So I'm saying no more posts or threads on this subject and let's show the Captain our support by keeping this forum a little bit more upmarket than some others I can mention. He's Captain of Liverpool Football Club. That means a lot to me and should do to everyone else. Leave his private life just that. Keep it off here. Some will argue about the Steven Gerrard money making machine and how he uses the media and now he should have to put up with what's coming to him. A different time, a different thread, let's just stand up and show some support for now.

I understand to reply to this topic you essentially have to keep the discussion up and running so that's why I've disabled replies.
