We are due a good performance, we have already won against them this season, we have the better midfield ( can,t see Ballack and Essien getting the better of Stevie and Momo), and we have the best manager. We will win.

Stamford Bridge has always been a bogey ground for us, not just since Maureen and Roman arrived, I was quite confident during the week of getting a result here, but If we come away with a point I wont be dissappointed cause its taking 2 points off them on their turf.
Maybe we should approach it like a cup game, and see what we can pull off.

And im sick of bloody looking at them aswell, weve played them more than anyother team has the last 2 years.

We need to win this in all fairness and it would be Maureens first loss in the league at there place, come on red men we can do this I would love to get one over on them. Especially with big mouth Terry coming out and saying that if we lose we are out of the league already, after 4 games behave yourself will you.

Come on Liverpool.........

Mungo's son, JT, was reported to have writen our chances of winning the title (Stupid P1ssw4nk). This must really fire up our lads, I know SB has been a bit of a bogey place to play, but F*** it.  lets just go there and teach these spoilt brats a lesson.

Come on LFC.

With our performance at PSV, I say we may sneak one out here, but I'll be happy with a draw though after that Derby loss.  2-2 with a late goal by Momo to level the score.

We really need to stamp our authority today. Not only in the match, but also in the league. We need to show people that we mean business!

I'm gutted that I'm going to miss it today - I'm flying to the US during match time. :(

Rafa needs to get his tactics right for this game. We need to play our strongest team from the off because if we dont we can be punished i.e benfica. I think we should give reina another chance in the nets i wouldnt take him out just yet as for me he is better than dudek. Chelsea are strong coming forward, shevchenko Drogba Ballack so our defence must be spot on, I think possibly we should play a 3-5-2. Also our midfeild is vital aswell We do need gerrard in and in the centre of this midfeild because for me he is most effective there. Crouch has been doing good for england no doubt about it but for me we must start with Bellamy and Kuyt up front as they did well against psv despite not scoring.

                       Reina

       Carragher       Hyypia        Agger

                       Sissoko

Pennant        Gerrard     Alonso       Gonzales

                   Bellamy       Kuyt

2-0 to the reds

I think Rafa will play 4-5-1 and wait and see what happens during the game. Of course we arrive at this point desperately needing a result following our below average start (after they lost to Reading yesterday I ask once more, how many of those people who claimed that there was an overreaction after our game still think a point at Sheff U was a reasonable result?) and the main criteria will probably be to avoid defeat at all costs.

It's probably correct despite the fact that Man U are disappearing over the horizon to concentrate more on Chelsea. Wednesdays scrambled win over Celtic showed that all is far from invincible at Old Trafford and the feeling persists that anybody who finishes above Chelsea will win the thing. A draw would leave us five ponts behind with a game in hand, while a win would put us two behind with that same outstanding game to play. Defeat, however would put us eight points adrift with a game in hand and not far off out of the equation.

John Terry was out of order for saying we would be out of it if beaten but in truth, history would suggest he'd not be far wrong. We can't expect Chelsea to lose often at the likes of Middlesborough and to give them an eight point start over our remaining 34 games or so would be a tall order at the very least. My suspicion is that we could probably afford to lose another three games in the whole season at the most, with six or seven draws and around twenty four or twenty five wins. Twenty five wins, six draws and three defeats would give us eighty five points. When you consider that even this may not be enough, it makes you realise that enormity of our task should we lose today, and also shows in sharp focus the folly of saying things such as "the league isn't won in one game, calm down, knee-jerker" and such nonsense.

Anyhow, what's done is done so for todays game my suspicion is he will drop Bellamy, play Kuyt uptop on his own and Gerrard as the focal point of a five man midfield, with Pennant on the right and Gonzales the now customary eyebrow raising selection wide left, Aurelio at left-back and Hyypia replacing Agger.

You never guess it right, but I think that's what he'll do. With the exception of Warnock at left-back and Aurelio at left-mid, it's what I'd do as well under the circumstances to be honest. The feeling persists however that had we approached the other games with anything like our strongest team, we would have been at least two and probably three points better off by now and we could have really had a go at them with two up front. Still, it is what it is and I think we might sneak a 0-0.

Agree with you about the 4-5-1 mick, but I think Crouchy may get the nod over Kuyt. He's always given the Chelsea defense problems.

TBH I wouldn't be surprised to see Garcia start if Rafa goes 4-5-1, acting as a support striker. Luis always has a tendency to score crucial goals in big matches, and if he doesn't get a start I think we'll see him at some point in the 2nd half.

                      Reina

Finnan    Carra     Sami       Aurelio

Gerrard    Sissoko   Xabi     Gonzalez

               Garcia

                        Crouch/Kuyt

If not that team, then Garcia out and Penant on the right with Gerrard more central.

C'mon Reds!

I dont Mick, I think Crouch will play and Garcia just off him.
I would love us to go with Kuyt and Bellamy, Gonzales and Pennant and say feck it if we are going to get beat with 5-4-1 with Crouch up top on his own, we might aswell have a go at this and see what happens.
