CHELSEA VS LIVERPOOL - Come on you rent boys!

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Well i've got tickets for this game!! only problem is that i have to sit in with the Chelski scum!!! I did this once before and it wasn't too bad as i was sat in the corporate area so didn't have any trouble- but this time i'm going to be right in the middle of the 'lively' fans so will probably leave my Liverpool shirt at home!

Maybe i should take bets on how long it will take before they notice i'm acting the complete opposite of the fans around me (they jump up and cheer- i stay seated. I jump up and cheer- everyone else kicks my head in! :D  )

My team to play:

                      Reina

Finnan      Carragher      Agger     Warnock

Gerrard     Sissoko       Alonso       Gonzalez

                   Tommycockles

              Bellamy     Kuyt

you may notice there's 12 people on the field- one of them actually trying to escape to the Liverpool end after we've scored a goal!!

Bellamy and Kuyt would be the ideal partnership up front if our manager was attackive minded, however Raffa Benitez, especially against the strong teams, tends to shut up shop and defend (remember against Man Utd at Anfield last year, 0-0 bore).

I would definitely pick at least one of Bellamy or Kuyt. Maybe Crouch will be useful but I do think Peter is too overrated.

I would be well pleased with a draw given our recent form and our recent poor performances in the league against Chelsea.  I won't entirely write off our title challenge if we lose but it will put a serious dent in things.  To me, though, the new squad is very much a work in progress and will take some time to find some form and play the kind of fluid football we enjoyed last season.  A scrappy draw or an ugly win will suit me down to the ground at this stage--we'll save the stylish football for their visit to Anfield!

i'd go with...

               Reina

Finnan Carra Agger Warnock

        Alonso Sissoko
Pennant                Gonzalez
             Gerrard

               Kuyt

...hyypia always gets a hard time against dogbar, agger's pace will no doubt be called upon against shevi. and bearing in mind we're playing at the home of the champions, beni knows our only chance of running the game is by fielding all 3 musketeers in midfield.

fool proof  :)

I'm not sure about Warnock, if Shaun-Wright Phillips is playing I will fear that Chelsea might get a lot of joy down the right. :(  I wish Riise was fit

ps. chelsea's defence will make MinceMeat of crouch - he doesnt have the power required for this game. kuyt will keep hold of the ball better, will make better use of any ariel attacks and provide gerrard, pennant and gonzo the opportunity to get forward WHILE WE HAVE POSSESSION.

the only options are warnock and aurelio, and im not convinced by aurelio defensively.

You must have watched a different game to me, then.

We battered them, but couldn't score.

Absolutely BATTERED them.

Same. Actually, he can't defend. He seems too 'nice'. Warnock should play in a game like this, gets his foot in and wears his heart on his sleeve.

well up for this one. Will be my third game of the season. Were going to :censored: batter those chavs! Should be a good game, i think a draw would be a good result and a win....well need i explain! I think rafa will go 4-4-1-1 with stevie or luis behind the striker. Although i expect him to play gerrard on the right and luis in behind with surely crouch given how well him and luis have done before against them. I expect sami and carra to play at the back. The only 'vacant' area as such would be left back where its a choice between warnock and aurelio. With aurelio not playing perticually well and not seemng to comunicate with the rest of the back 4 perticually well i would pick warnock although he may struggle. But i would love to see him get really stuck in to the :censored: rent boys!!

COMON YOU REDMEN!

I'd put Bellamy and Kuyt upfront.  Give the Cheeski's a few surprises.  They may have seen Kuyt play but I'm sure this is one game he'll be relishing.
