Cisse has signed

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

The deals been done and dusted for months. I can't see the problem with him coming, he's a class act.

Any new manager coming has existing players. He should be classed as one of those. Not a problem in my book.

£14 million is a lot of money. Hopefully it truely reflects his ability and how highly Cisse is rated by people in the game. :)

£10 million would have been a better valuation, but in todays stupid valuations, that's what you gotta pay. £20 million for Carlos, £25 million for Beckham, £30 million for Gerrard  and £8 million for Smith!!! Saha also went for £14 million.

They worlds gone mad.

£14M is a fair evaluation when you think that clubs like Real Madrid have approached him in the past.  People talk about wanting players who are passionate about wearing the red shirt- well he's spoken again and again about wanting to go to Liverpool despite a manager change, the possibility of not guaranteeing champs lge football and the chance to go elsewhere (mind you i do remeber Diouff saying similar things) .
Despite being young he's a player who people have been excited about for years and he's played several games for France which is a massive achievement with their array of strikers.  if it was Arsene Wenger who was signing him arsenal fans would be exstatic.

He's still only playing in the Nationwide for all intents and purposes and £14 million is a lot - I've watched him in about 11 FULL games this season on Canal+ and if the new manager wants grafters then there's going to be problems.
If Parry is on holiday then there is already a done deal as far as the new manager is concerned.

It's a bit harsh to say that the French league is same as our Nationwide. Two of there teams contested both european finals in the last week.

But Milwall never faced Premier competion in the Fa cup untill the Final. Monaco and Marseille beat the cream of Europe. More Monacco than Marseille.

Owen, Garrard, Kirkland and Dawson (maybe) would be good enough for me :;):

No disrespect JohnBull but there is a general attitude in England that the likes of France have mickey mouse leagues.

I'm not saying that the French league is in the same bracket as the Premiership, but French teams are always strong in Europe.

Perhaps that's their problem - motivated for the big europe games but what I'm seeing in their league games is nowhere near our standard.
By and large our best players are still here but there's soon move away.
