I said to my girlfriend on the way home - Villa are probably the least significant team in the League for LFC.

They are of no consequence whatsoever. They have no scum anywhere on or off the pitch.

No-one to hate, you see.

A liitle bit of the point, I don't think the Premiership would miss them if they went donw, they are absolutely :censored:.

Mossley Hill is decent.
South Liverpool is a hidden gem.

The OOTer arguement is all old hat now.

Any highly successful club will gain support from around the world due to the TV coverage they get.
It goes with the territory.

Some things get up scousers noses tho. On the plane to Lisbon this year I had an OOTer reading the Sun in the seat in front of me. Also, you see a group acting like idiots who are not from the city and you cant help but think they are giving OUR city a bad name. But then again, many scousers act like idiots when supporting LFC so it cuts both ways.

However, if you are from Liverpool and dont have a season ticket due to the 25,000 waiting list I suppose you would feel resentment towards OOTers who have got season tickets.
It's natural.

Back to the thread...
For me, the atmosphere deteriorated when we became all seated.
But that's the way football clubs have gone in England.

As someone said before, the fans will be more "up" for a big game and you cant expect it playing dross like Villa.

Good point, I have worked with Welsh Liverpool Supporters and they all sit there reading The S*N, it's the ignorance that these people have that pisses me off.

I suppose if getting tickets was nice and easy, and I could just sit on my :censored: and get the tickets for the big games through supporters clubs then I wouldn't want to hit stupid ooters who constantly push past me when the game is on to go and get something to eat, catching me in the face with their bags of merchandise.  I don't know why some of them bother coming the game, they don't even watch it.

Its a lazy excuse that OOTers make the atmosphere worse or tickets harder to come by for Scousers, but in some cases it is true. Its completely true the other way round as well though.

Personally, I accept OOTers a lot more than I did a couple of years ago, but WOOLs are WOOLs, and they will always bear the brunt of scousers jokes. In fact people from just outside Liverpool, may of whom are scousers are called WOOLs.

Get over it.

Nail on the head.In all walks of life people percieved as outsiders are treated differently.Ask any local in Plymouth or Portsmouth are they happy with the influx of sailors in there pubs and clubs on a Saturday night.Ask the local lads in Catterick or Aldershot are they happy with the squaddies. Then ask the soldiers and sailors what they think of the locals. You will get two entirley different points of view, both with some justification.

Having been born and bred in Liverpool,I feel I have a special affiliation to Liverpool Football Club,it is after all my home town team.I am not saying people from outside of Liverpool cant love the club, but I do think its a different kind of love.To see Steven Gerrard lift the European Cup was fantastic for every Liverpool supporter, no matter were in the World you come from, but the fact that he is a Liverpool lad made it more special for me.Of course I am delighted for any Liverpool captain to lift any trophy as you all are, but there is that special bond beetween Liverpool people that cant be bought in the souvenir shop.To me there will always be a difference beetween scousers and ooters its not a physical one,but it is there.

You may think reading that I have a problem with OOTERS,I dont.I count myself lucky to have been born in this city,a city everybody should visit if they get the chance and not just for the football. All succesful football clubs have support from outside their immediate catchment areas. The money they bring into the respective clubs is vital.I know at Cardiff there will be loads of wools/ooters as far as Iam concerned if they qualify for a ticket in there own right good luck to them. There are fans from this city who will get tickets for the final that dont deserve them, likewise their will be fans from outside who shouldnt get one.We are all Liverpool supporters at the end of the day and as far as I am concerned the gates of Anfield are open to all.If you are from out of town and come to Anfield, do us a favour leave your Jesters hats at home.

sorry but i think thats rubbish that because u r fro liverpool it meant more to u than it would do to me who comes from london. A special affiliation? gimme a break. we both support liverpool, maybe for different reasons but for the last 25 years i have lived and breathed lfc so to say it didnt mean as much to me to see stevie g lift the cup is a little bit dissapointing to hear to be honest.

Yes some ooters are idiots, as are some scousers, its just common law that in life some people are idiots, some are not.

I know some people born and bred in liverpool who couldnt give a to$$ really about the team but wear the colors and i got some mates down here who harp on non stop with the sort of passion rarely seen anywhere in life.

DAWS,Ididnt say it ment more to me than you. When the Olympics comes to London,Iwould imagine you would be chuffed if a local athlete won a gold medal.Iwould be made up,but if a liverpool athlete gets a gold Iwould be more pleased. If you get my drift.

so u r more pleased than a black or asian scouser if gerrard picks up the trophy as well?

all im saying is u just see geography, i see a team we both love. I couldnt give a monkeys about the olympics, it just means that im paying more taxes for 6 years while they spend 100 million so somsone can run round a circle.

i think it meant just as much to all true liverpool fans when stevie picked up the trophy. maybe by ooter u mean armchair fan who doesnt really follow football but catches the results but i think most of the people who come on here as mucha s we do do it because we are truly passionate about the club

(ps sorry to bring race into it just trying to make a point i think)

Dawson mate you really are missing the point with what Red Baron is saying. He isn't saying that OOTers don't love the club or saying they don't have as much a right to support the club as locals. He is saying that scousers will just feel that little extra special when the club wins something or when Gerrard lifted the trophy as they are their local team and a local lad that could have been any of them. One of their own and that makes them that little bit prouder and i understand that. Its nothing to do with race or location just the fact that its one of them and it makes them feel even more pleased.

its nothing to do with race or location but its because it is one of their own?

thats a contradiction isnt it?

its exactly about location!

i could say im a better fan as im not a fan due to location or family but just myself but that would be tedious to say. we are all fans, thats all im saying. a scouse shouldnt feel more proud because he or she is scouse just as much as a white man wouldnt be more proud than someone of a different colour.

does that make sense?

woof mate i like drummerphil as much as the next man but the chats will always go on no matter what. when phil reads the little rants we've been getting into hes gonna agree with me.

im not being callous but the last thing hes gonna want when he comes back on the forum (which he will) is everyone tip toeing around being mindful of what they say
