thanks for backing me up there, i thought i was the only one who thought the ooters could contribute more.
we need to get behind the players when times are hard, not sit there eating hotdogs and drinking tea.
the only noise most ooters make is when we score and that is short lived, just a quick clap and sit back down before there hotdog gets cold

I'm a ooters mate (from Winsford, Cheshire), me an my sis are the only non scousers in our family and I've been brought up goin to Anfield since I was about 3 by my uncles, I don't give a f**k what people think of me when I'm at the game, I sing and shout to the players like I was the mamnger or something, I never get tickets anywhere else apart from the Kop unless it's a free one cos I just can't stand sitting with all the muppets  :(

fair enough, i hate being on the main stand or the centenary because i find that there is loads of muppets just sitting there not singing, i prefer the kop for the atmosphere, but the view i have in the main stand is priceless, brillaint it is until the ooters decide to get a hotdog as liverpool take a free kick or corner.  getting in everyones way

Away games are definitely best for atmosphere. I haven't been to a Liverpool away game for about 3 years but regularly watch Leicester when they play anywhere up in the north west (father in law's a big Leicester fan) and the atmosphere amongst the travelling support is ten times what it is down at the Walkers or previously Filbert Street.

I think it's got 2 things about it - obviously you get the more committed fans going to aways cos they're expensive and take all day sometimes, and it's those fans who are more inclined to show a bit more passion imo. Secondly it's the fact that you're always outnumbered at an away game that gives everyone a different mentality that they have to sing twice as loud to make themselves heard, a bit like the "underdog" mentality I suppose.

That's cos everybody's probably had more boozing time for an evening kick-off :O

I've only been in the centenary stand once about 7/8 years ago and I have to admit the atmosphere was sh*te, I spent the whole time itching to be back on the Kop. Whenever I've been in the main stand the atmosphere's been OK but I usually end up toward the Kop end of the stand which helps a bit. Annie Road's usually a decent atmosphere, probably helped with a bit of banter with the away support. The Kop is obviously still the best, although not a shadow of what it was when it was a terrace

i love getting sent over to the kop when im working, its brilliant.  ive been in the anfield road end and the banter between the away fans and the home fans is quite comical at times.
