How full do you think anfield would be every week with only local support?

Do you not feel a sense of pride in the shows of force we display in the numbers and noise of our support at all the great european finals we have had the pleasure of being a part of? You surely can't beleive they're all local's??

I accept the points you are making, prehaps my arguement could be also aimed at Manchester United fans as well.  I just think that for somebody to not support their local team is odd.  I know a fella from (born there) Scunthorpe, and he supports Liverpool but Scunthorpe are his second team, now explain that.  It's gloryhunting.  Why is it only successful teams have a global fanbase?  I just don't understand how you don't support your local team.

It's easy for you to say that when LFC is your local club.  Some people here don't even have a professional team in their home town or city.  Should we have to settle for watching a standard of football that is quite honestly pathetic?  Is it so bad that some of us would rather adopt a team that actually plays good entertaining football at a high standard rather than watch rubbish?

lol..and as i grew so did my love for the football team (and most of the fans )

now im not gonna change my opinion halfway through, im sticking with who ive always supported. both logically and soulfully liverpool is, was, and will always be my club

Utter bullsh*t. I have supported LFC all my days. I know a former legend and met Barnes, Rush, Nicholl etc when I was 4 years old when they were invited to my house. That clearly had an influence on me from a very young age as I idolised these players. I live in Scotland and play football myself so can't go to as many games as I would like. I get to about 3-4 games per season and have travelled Europe with my beloved LFC.

You have a decent reason for supporting the redmen.  My problem is aimed at those who live in places that have football teams. More specifically those who start supporting us after we win something.

Tranmere is over the water, and my dad's side are Blue and my mum's side are Red.  To be fair though my dad used to buy my ticket and I used to go with the fella over the road.  I remember one day, sitting in his and he was showing me videos are the great Liverpool teams of the 70's and 80's and told me all about them. I was fascinated then.  My dad used to work away, so he never had the chance to warp my mind and turn me into a bitter.

In a way, it's biggotry in my opinion, those same fan's who have said this BS would be the first to slate the relationship between Rangers and Celtic fans, this is very f*cking similar.

I've supported Liverpool from the first day I watched and understood football, nothing will change that or the way I feel about Liverpool ( and it's people ). Northern Ireland has some of the most passionate and diehard fan's in the world, the rivalry between us and Man Utd fan's is just as fierce here as it is there too...Belfast is just like Liverpool in a lot of ways. The point is, don't think that for one minute if your not Scouse you can't be passionate.

Besides that, we don't have Professional football in this country.

Succesful teams have global support bacause they have exposure world wide
Teams like liverpool have there matches shown around the world and people hear about there great history and fall in love with it.

Sure the big clubs have glory hunters it comes with the territory but to suggest that everyone that doesn't support there local teams a glory hunter is a bit arrogant, most people dont decide which team there going to support it just happens you just feel it.
