Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Having heard the result I was really :censored: off at not winning, and with all the chances we had -

Garcia
Morientes
Kewell
Stone wall penalty
and of course Robbie

We should have won easily.

Having watched the highlights though, I was cheered up by Robbie's contribution.  He looked lively, and showed signs of his old self.

If he keeps that up we can only improve.  I'd start him next game!!

Chin up people....at least Manure lost again!!   :buttrock

Look, many are criticising Mori, and with reason. But he did play ok today, the cut back was supurb to Gerrard for the first goal, and thats something that Rafa is looking for, someone who is willing to play team football. Cisse doesn't do that. Fowler will be ok, he has too much to lose, and if he is injured, he won't show it.

I'm puzzled, we should have won, we know that, but we did gain a point on Man Ure. Once where we could have easily been 2 points ahead (given we win our games in hand) in second place, we are now looking at being 3 points ahead, and thats a positive thing.

Rafa needed to rest his big players, hence the reason why Gerrard came off, why some big guns were rested. We have a HUGE match this weekend, and the way both teams are going at the moment, its going to be a cracker!!

Thought this might happen.........birmingham is sort of our bogy team.

This just shows how much we need fowler to get fit ASAP. And how much we need owen back in the summer seeing how newcastle might get relegated  :p

If (when) we beat chelsea, everything will be alright.  :)

Im on cloud nine I think we played great tonight  :D

Im disappointed to have dropped points at home tonight especially with our rivals dropping some, however it wasnt that long ago that sort of game would have been a disappointing and unexplained loss at home.
Overall though im rapted, when you consider where we were a season and half ago to where we are now.
Taking second spot and direct entry to CL is well within our grasps, realistically we dont really have a shot at the title this season though hopefully a couple of good cup runs in FA and CL will do instead. A couple more signings and bit of clearing out of the last of deadwood  to strengthen the side over the summer and bona fide crack at the main prize next season.
The future is red and its looking brighter every day

oh and Robbie is back   :D

Don't know about that, but I'm in the middle of uploading the MOTD highlights in full to yousendit, so there'll be a better quality copy doing the rounds in the morning.

Dissapointed. We should've won the game easily with the chances we've created...against 10 men.. We gave them too much space and time. We're unlucky and we have problems with set pieces.
I was screaming when robbie's goal was dissallowed.
Anyway, move on. We're going to beat chelski on sunday!!

I don't know what to expect from us on Sunday. Chelsea at home are a very very very good side. What we need to be aware of is that the majority of their goals this season have come from the second-half.

I've had a breather, I was a bit frustrated and angry but I think there is plenty of positives. The progression we've made is still visible. Of course there is the striker situation but under Rafa, I don't see why it can't be sorted. The man and the rest of the coaching staff have done a fantastic job imo.

They've changed the club from top to bottom. The reserves and the youth team are looking quite fecking impressive. The fact that our finances are better than last season also speaks for it self.

Of course this type of game is very frustrating. You dominate, you score and then just minutes from full-time you get a bit of bad luck. That is the beauty and uglyness of football, it can be harsh at times but you can't cry over spilt milk.

We played well and created enough chances. As long as we create chances then we will always have a possibility of scoring. When I will really start worrying is when we don't create chances in games. We aren't putting enough of them in the back of the net, but as I said it's all about progression.

Compare the team from last season to this season, and you can't believe the changes that have taken place.

It's just a wonderful thing to see. At the begining of the season I wanted us to finish in the top three and we have a good chance of doing just that.

Last season I would had been depressed for weeks after this kind of game, but after a couple of hours I've grown to realize even more how much this team is capable.
