We sold another talented and highly skilled young player(baros) for 6.5m and i would feel cheated if we spent 10m on defoe as baros is definately a better player than him.

How come we always get 'done' in the transfer market?!

Baros is better than Defoe?

So far we have:
1. Traore is in Carragher's class and needs time because 7 years isn't enough.
2. Baros is better than Defoe.

What next? Bring back Biscan?

I'm sorry, but to say that Baros is better than Defoe is just about enough to get you committed.  :no

Go back to LFC.tv and post your Ku Klux Klan pictures there then if you don't like it.

Same guy as yesterday with the KKK pics for those who think I'm being harsh.

This explains his one liner posts anyway.

i really really hate to admit this but for once, i agree with stu!!

baros did indeed paid his due but he's nowhere in the vicinity of the premiership's prolific strikers. Defoe on the other hand is a unique striker; he has the ability that baros lacked and that is :creating chances.

Baros just waste them and very good at it too.

Traore is just a sad case. Absolutely no argument!

One thing i must say about Defoe though and that is he is a lot lie Cisse not in terms of ability of technicalk awareness but he does tend to play selfishly and not as part of the team. If you notice most of his goals are individual efforts but im sure if Rafa really does want him he can change him toplay how he wants.

Defoe is a good player of that there's no doubt. Equally, there is absolutely no comparison whatsoever to Defoe and Baros, the Spurs man is much the better player. That said, he has stagnated these last 18 months or so, it's not just in the last couple of months since Jol's stopped picking him that he hasn't been scoring often enough. My own feeling is that he is a player who will come back, particularly if he can maintain a high level of intensity and passion during games as this is when he's at his very best IMHO. At 10 million he would represent excellent value.

And i really really don't give a toss weather you really really agree with me or not, at the end of the day theres only a few people on the forum who regularly talk sense, you aren't one of them.

First time for everything though.

Well said, also i agree with Bav on the fact he's selfish.

Infact thats his main weakness, he's very very selfish, he does however have the ability to change this one area of his game, that will come with maturity i would think when he realises he can square it infront of goal and get the same plaudits as it he'd smacked it in the top corner. If the reports are true, i hope they are, then we could have a hell of a strikeforce on our hands.

I also agree that Defoe is selfish, but there's one big difference, most time's his selfishness pay's off and he make's goal's out of situation's that looked bleak, I wouldn't be too worried if he kept that up.

What are these report's you speak of Stu?

It's very hard to assess a player unless you go to watch a few times.
TV coverage only shows so much.

If we were to go in for Defoe I think it'd be in the Summer. Cant see Spurs letting him go in the middle of season where they could qualify for the Champs League for the first time ever.
