Well...essentially yes Stu you would.  :D

the only thing with defoe is that it looks like we are buying a poor mans owen.
defoe is a great player.... but 10 million?

He maybe a poor mans Owen Daws' but how often these days does Michael complete a full season. No doubt one of the strats guys will be able to drag up a figure (although I think he stayed fit all of last season off the top of my head) and Defoe's a bit hungrier and younger. Besides, we couldn't afford Owen plain and simple so there's no point in beefing about it. Garcia maybe a paupers Ronaldhino but he's still a good player.

Saviola's average. Always has been.

Defoe's a good player. As good as Owen? No, still, a very decent player.

Nearly 100% agree, would have used Aimar as an example to Ronaldinho! :)

I've had a good bet with a spurs fan at work that at least one Liverpool player will score more league goals than Defoe this season. Now I've read Stu's "words of wisdom" I know my money's safe. Halfway through the season how many has he got 5/6? :D

If the reports are true i would urge rafa to get this deal sorted asap, he is a fantastic young player.

I agree with everyone that says he is selfish but Stu made a good point that, that could quite easily be changed.
Imagine Defoe & Crouch partnership with Pongolle and Morientes as back up ?

TBH Lando i havent seen anything concrete or a proper article as such, but in the mirror everyday on the blag wicked whispers column there is someone different saying they have heard a deal is going to happen.
They range from stewards at spurs to martin Jol's chiropractor  :D  But you never know.

You're talking rubbish.

Thats your opinion this is mine. I've seen both play enough to pass my judgement. I think Morientes is better all around. He's a proven international player, and he's produced the goods at other clubs.

Whether he at the end makes the same sort of impact he's done at Madrid and Monaco, we will see but to me he's a better player than Defoe.

I think his touch is better than Defoe's, and he has better awareness. Defoe might be faster, but Morientes is more intelligent. His link up play is better than Defoes, and he's a threat in the air.

It is hard to compare the two, because they are different types of strikers but Morientes imo is better than Defoe. I couldn't personally care what you have to say about that, where as it's eating up inside everytime somebody disagrees with you.

So you don't think Defoe's capable of scoring around the 20 mark each season? ???

Show's what you know mate.

I don't give a flyin fuck kid. At the end of the day you've never been to a live match, you're a teenager who's seen fuck all and you generally talk rubbish on every thread and every post you make unless you're posting someone elses opinions.

You always have to try and get the last word and are a complete tosser. That aside, you're entitled to you're uneducated opinion. :D

Here's a simple question:

When we signed Morientes, who in here would have chosen Defoe instead?

- F*cking no-one.

Morientes is in a lull, but his class is evident, and to even suggest Defoe could even compare is a bit silly.

I thought you were all against the "he hasn't got pace so he's sh*t" brigade, Stu?

Defoe is a very good player, with a lot of potential. He is lightning fast, and able to use that pace.

Morientes is a f*cking outstanding, World-class talent who has fulfilled his potential. He's a slow bod, but he is a top-drawer header of the ball. He just needs an unbroken run in the team to show his true class.

And if pace is the be-all and end-all, why not sign Mourice Green? ???
