Interesting insight and very true from the Boss:

Taken form LFC.tv:

People say we need a striker who will score 20 goals, but we don't need more strikers," said the Liverpool manager. "We have a midfielder who can score 20 goals and, for me, Steve can score goals.

"I said to him that I want to see him score 20 goals or more this season and he has already scored 14.

"He likes to go forward, get in the box and shoot and, if he has better team-mates, he will score more goals. It's simple.

"The most important thing is not to have one striker who scores 20 goals. It's better to have four or five players in the squad who can score 10 or 15 goals.

"That way it makes it more difficult for the other teams to stop you. If you have one player who scores 20 or 25 goals the other teams know who they have to stop.

"If Steve can score 20 goals and two of the strikers can score 15 goals each, then that is good. If you have more goalscoring options, then for me that's a better situation."

Very true indeed.

And equally important:

He added: "I always thought this kind of run was possible, even after our start to the season. Nobody could see the real position of this team until now.

"Victories like Wednesday make me most happy. Not because it was a derby, but because playing two games so quickly at such a high level shows me how much better the squad is. We can make changes to the side and our level doesn't drop.

"Whether we use Warnock, Sissoko or Cisse, the team is doing the same thing.

"That's important and that's why I have so much confidence for the rest of the seasons. Now we are consistent, no matter how many changes are made."

How true is that :)

RAFA.. MADE THE PEOPLE HAPPY !

With this deal sewn up, I'm positive that Rafa has a CB lined up. Josemi was used there on quite a few occasions, and with him gone that basically leaves Traore as the only squad player (since Whitbread's been loaned out) that has experience in the position.

A Villareal fan has popped up in my usual Real Sociedad forum

Needless to say I prompted him about Krompkam. He says that as far as he can say, he likes the player. He thinks he is better than Javi Venta, the regular player in that position, and Josemi himself.
He just thinks that he's been unlucky because Villareal is having a good form, and when you have a good form you do little squad changes.

I told him that it seems to me that Liverpool has the better part of the deal in this swap.

He says, "may be", but since he's not adapted, Josemi is not adapted neither, and they already have a good right back, he finds ok the swap.

So it seems ok all this :)

well kromkamp plus two decent centre backs, maybe daniel Agger, and a top quality right winger would be perfect for us.

Seen him a few times he's a good player.

LIVERPOOL AGREE KROMKAMP DEAL

   By John Skilbeck, PA Sport

Dutch international Jan Kromkamp is poised to become Liverpool's first January
signing after terms of an exchange deal were agreed with Spanish side
Villarreal.

The 25-year-old, who is comfortable both in midfield and at right-back, will
move to Anfield as Josemi heads in the opposite direction.

Kromkamp has yet to discuss personal terms, but a statement from his club
tonight announced:  Villarreal have reached an agreement with Liverpool for the
transfer of Dutch defender Jan Kromkamp to the English team and the arrival of
Josemi. The agreement is between the clubs and lacks only the agreement of both
players.

Josemi, 26, was Rafael Benitez's first signing as Liverpool boss when he
arrived from Malaga, but he struggled to break into the first team and has also
been troubled by injury.

i am happy at the signing of kromkamp, and the departure of josemi  :)
