Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Don't blame Raffa - Blame the disproportionist (?) system that's come in with Sky/Abramovich/Glazier and any other  friggin leech that's given the rest of us a mountain to climb.
I'd still rather be honest and pyssed-off than some joke cockney pretending he's an English football supporter.
At least today gave the bluenoses something to smile about.

Today's result may not be the end of the world but it's a complete and utter embarrassment to lose 4-1 at Anfield no matter who we're playing.  4-1 flattered Chelsea but they still deserved to win, they were better than us in all departments today.  Hyypia had one of his worst games in a Liverpool shirt and Traore once again proved he's not good enough for Liverpool.

It was a strange game, although we were out-played, 4-1 was harsh.  Stupidity from Traore for the first goal, a rare piece of brilliance by Drogba for the second, a lucky third goal (Drogba didn't mean to pass it) and a fourth when we had just gone 3 at the back and got caught pushing up.

All of our weaknesses were exposed today.  Hyypia's ageing legs struggling to cope with 2 games in a week, no creativity out wide, our inability to score and some of our big players in poor form - Alonso, Garcia and Hyypia.  We have nothing in the final 3rd these days.  Riise and Garcia were poor today and created nothing.  Crouch held it up well but when he's played up on his own there is absolutely no movement up front.  Some people think a right winger will solve all our problems?  Bollox.  Today proved we have several weaknesses that need to be addressed.  Add a left winger, a centre forward and centre-back cover to the list.

People on other threads calling for Benitez's head is a disgrace.  He's the best thing to happen to this club for a long time and he will make us a force again.  But I have to say he has made a few mistakes recently in my opinion.  He talked us up after the game on wednesday which I feel just made Chelsea more up for it today.  I'm not a big fan of Cisse, but bringing him on with 10 minutes left is useless.  We should have gone 4-4-2 from the start of the second half.  And what does Garcia need to do to get dropped?  I'm a big fan of Garcia but he's woefully off form at the moment.  But hindsight is a wonderful thing, and Benitez makes more good decisions than bad ones.

Today's game has made me sick, I was too angry to post earlier on, but :censored: it, we can't change it now.  We have at least 2 more games against Chelsea this season to make up for it.  First of all we have to get some premiership points in the bag and fast.  The season isn't over by a long shot, but we need a few back-to-back wins in the league to get us going.

??? Raffa has to take a lot of blame for today John I dont care what you say, we could have played for a draw, getting beat 4-1 by the rent boys when wigan held them out till the 93rd minute sorry, I cant understand taking 2 defenders off I am just really really puzzelled by his tactics today and I cannot understand what he tried to do leaving Garcia on and Crouch with no infulence on the game what so ever.
And brings Cisse on with 8 mins to go wether people like the lad or not we are payed 14 million pounds for this player FFS to come on with 8 mins to go, when he should start upfront with a strike partner, I am totally baffled I really really am, I cant understand none of it.

Raffa never bought him !
Anyone with any sense wouldn't have bought him, for LFC at that time.  At the end of the day he could have come on half an hour before anyone else and stayed on half an hour later than everyone else. He still wouldn't have scored. Might have hit the crossbar though !!

Excellent post JC, I am not calling for Rafa's head but he has got the last few prem games totally wrog with his tactics.

Rafa was critisized when we were drawing games and today you're complaining because Rafa didn't play for a draw. He played for a win, and rightfully so we were at home.

We played for a win on Wednesday but didn't win because of poor officiating. Today we lost because of poor errors at the back and because we allowed Drogba too much time and space on the ball.

On Wed. Chelsea played it long to Drogba and failed, today they played into his feet and he set up four goals.

A.B. find another target I am not in the mood for your nit picking on my previous posts, Any Liverpool fan would have settled for a draw today not a total whitewash of 4-1 from the rent boys. I am f@cking disgusted and dissapointed your in the states it doesnt hurt as much as it does us scousers so turn it in ok.

that was bad today my friends, i can recall being beat 5-1 by villa in 81, 4-0 by man u but the worst game at anfield was the cup winners cup v's moscow in 92 when i sat in the new stand for the 1st time and witnessed a master class in counter attacking play which ended up 2-0 but should've been 6. The depresing aspect of todays game for me was the consistant lack of options in the last 3rd, no surprise there then. This dissapointed is synonymous with Rafa's tactics, we have not one iota of idea up front unless, that is, when we find ourselves 3-0 down at half time on the world stage. Dare I say that sarah fergusen up the M62 has already rectified the error of his ways and now resorted back to attacking footy with a least a couple of heads up front, man crouch has had 1 SHOT all season and he's our only guy in their f.uckin half. I could go on all night so I think I'll put this post to bed, goodnight, sleep well, I wont.

even though he didn't buy him. He had more crack at Goal than Garcia this season. And he's on the payroll and not injured. Don't you give us a the reason " He didn't buy him". All mangers at clubs find players and some they sell and some they use. Cisse has seven goals this season. Are you all blind or jus can't count?

What I want to say is that Managers come at clubs and find players bought by others and that is no reason why they should not use them even if they perform

It doesn't hurt as much? You think that I'm happy that we lost to a bunch of w#nkers that have won two league titles in 100 years of their clubs history?

You think that I'm happy that their sh1t fans were chanting "Thats why we're champions". I hate them as much as I do the Mancs, and today a lot of pride has been hurt but thats life and you got to move on.

I'm glad that we played for a win, it shows that we weren't scared of the feckers but we made mistakes that cost us. People want us to go for a win but when it fails we should play for a draw.

You can't have it both ways.

You're right Neil.  I don't care what anyone says, we set out to contain them and try to nick a goal.  That's an absolute fact.  On another day it might have worked, but we had too many players off form today.
