found this in the times, is this widely reported in the UK, ive not heard it before, if so how much are we being fined each time

The club have pleaded with supporters to stop the behaviour that has earned four fines from Uefa, European football's governing body, over the past 12 months. One of the fines was issued after 44 flares were let off during the Champions League final.

i am wondering what the other three fines were for, also are other clubs fined for flares etc, it seems to me that uefa will be having fine clubs for every game for some small indiscretion.

It's a well known fact UEFA like us about as much as we like proctology.

It was on the lfc.tv site as well:

"Over the past twelve months Liverpool Football Club has played 22 games home or away in UEFA Competitions. Following four of these matches - three away and one at Anfield - the Club was heavily fined for breaches of UEFA Regulations.
The fines were imposed after plastic bottles were thrown onto the pitch, items were thrown back at home fans, fans ran onto the pitch and 44 flares were let off at the Champions League Final.

We strongly urge our supporters to observe all Ground Regulations, either at Anfield or any stadium in Europe. Any Liverpool fans found to be breaching these Regulations - home or away - will be banned from all grounds.

The use of flares inside a stadium is not only against Ground Regulations and the law, but can also kill. We urge all our fans, please do not attempt to gain entry with flares or fireworks at any time.

The vast majority of our supporters do not cause problems while watching Liverpool and we appreciate your help in working within Ground Regulations at all stadia and maintaining the good name of the Club throughout Europe."

lfc show flare every week, we'd be fined for just being good at footy :angry:
