Henchoz speaks of his exclusion - ..................

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Looks like i am not the only one who does not understand why Henchoz is not in the first team line up.

"I don't understand why I have been left out. I'm not used to sitting on the bench. The Liverpool fans don't understand it either."

Guess the above line is gonna cost him. GH does not like players to complain about him in public. Look what happen to westerveld, titi camera.....

Out-of-favour Henchoz fears for Anfield future

Liverpool defender Stephane Henchoz admits he is concerned about his future after his demotion to the bench in recent games.

The Swiss international has been one of Liverpool's most consistent performers in recent seasons but he has now lost his place alongside Sami Hyypia in the heart of defence to Igor Biscan.

While Hyypia is hopeful of being retained and has been speaking of a new contract, 29-year-old Henchoz says he is at a loss to know why he is not in the side.

He and Hyypia have in the past formed a formidable partnership in the centre of defence - but they have been exposed occasionally this season following injuries and lack of form.

Henchoz says he has not approached his manager yet, but has done some soul-searching of his own.

He said: "I don't understand why I have been left out. I'm not used to sitting on the bench. The Liverpool fans don't understand it either.

"I have not spoken to the manager about it. Gerard Houllier has not spoken to me and I'm not the kind of person to go looking to speak to him.

"There are many question marks about the future. Everyone is asking about what will happen, not just me."

Henchoz is obviously as baffled as the rest of us but I agree has probably just signed his own death warrant

I'd feel pretty baffled if Igor Biscan got chosen instead of me and I haven't kicked a ball in years!!  :)

Henchoz is the best defender in liverpool at the moment. I prefer henchoz to hyppia anytime. I think hyppia does not do the dirty work in the defence and often comes out smelling of roses.

It will be sad if henchoz is forced to go.  One thing the article proofs is that GH's man mangement skills suck big time. Westerveld complained that GH did not even talk to him for weeks just before his transfer. Henchoz seems to be getting the same treatment.

Now it is Henchoz, the next target could be Hamann. No wonder the players play as if they don't give a damn. Maybe they themselves want GH out.....

To be fair, Biscan is not a defender. He is a defensive midfielder. GH should have played biscan in hamann's absence instead of sticking him in defence now. I guess he is just playing Hamann to justify is 5.5 million transfer cost.

GH has already admitted that Diouf, Diao and somewhat Cheryou are flops. Admitting Biscan is a flop would put him in a worse light in front of the board.

Can safely say GH is indirectly ruining the careers of :
a)Heskey - not a left winger.
b)Biscan - not a centreback
c)Diao - not a right back
d)Cheryou - not a left winger
e)Henchoz - not a right back

To be honest I didn't think Biscan looked much better playing in midfield but I'd agree with you about GH playing people out of position so often.
What is the point of buying players and then playing them in roles they are not used to ?
It would be interesting to see how good some of the players you mentioned were if given a run playing in positions they are used to.

Don't laff..... but heskey might have become a world class striker now if he had played as a striker all this while.

Somewhat like Christine Vieri.

correction

f) Diouf - not fit to be a Liverpool player
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

Agree - Henchoz may have signed his own death warrant with those comments. Would be surprised if Houllier played him again this season. I believe he has still not been offered a new deal so + watching Biscuit steal his place must have left the guy pretty frustrated.

I agree that Henchoz is probably of now, Houllier dosnt like when people voice an opinion, remember Litmanen, Fowler and Babbell, all great players but Houllier dont give a s##t! he only likes his loyal robots who obey his every command, hopefully the board will wake up realise how bad we have become and sack him

And rightly f##king so.

Any player questioning a manager should be thrown out the door.

I don't care weather its Igor Biscan or Steven Gerrard no player has the right to question the manager. If i was in charge and someone questioned me i'd tell them to have more respect and shut there mouth in future, if not, do one.

But the fact is look at what he actually said. All he said is he doesn't know why he's been left out. Not "oh i should be playing Houllier's an idiot". Read the quotes not the spin the papers put on it.

I agree with most of that. But why isn't Henchoz playing ?
Another masterful plan from Foolier ? Whatever faults he has I'm sure most fans prefer Henchoz to Biscan.

Can't agree with that boys. Do you accept everything the government does and says without questioning it?

Blind faith is a dangerous thing in any walk of life, football included ???

I know what you're saying , I think Stu is from the Brian Clough school of management and thats ok too.
You can't have players constantly questioning your decisions.
Anyway as Stu pointed out all Henchoz said was (when asked)
"I don't know why I'm not playing"
