Henchoz speaks of his exclusion - ..................

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I think the middle ground is the place to be here. I agree you can't have the players shouting down the manager and trying to run the club, but when a manager is so obviously failing and making inexplicable decisions then it is right for his decisions to be quesionned.

Choosing Biscan ahead of Henchoz is absolutely baffling. Surely not even Stu, can you defend that? ???

It just seems to me that houllier never trys to mend a rift he just gets rid of the player.

I know what you're saying , I think Stu is from the Brian Clough school of management and thats ok too.
You can't have players constantly questioning your decisions.
Anyway as Stu pointed out all Henchoz said was (when asked)
"I don't know why I'm not playing"

Houllier should have gone by now. I'd be pretty p1ssed off if I was Henchoz sitting on the bench with Biscan in my place

I think Stu is right when he says players shouldn't critise managers (especially in public) but I do sympathise with Henchoz because in my opinion he is the best out and out defender at the club (better than Hyppia in defending although doesn't have Hyppia's aerial ability nor leadership skills).

Players shoudnt criticise, but they should be allowed to speak there minds in a way that wont effect the reputatuion of the club. Houllier goes mad if any player talks to the press about anything other than how great we are! take litmanen for eg, i think he just said he was unhappy about being left out so much, he didnt criticise houllier directly and he was gone in days! Houllier just a stubborn, arrogant moron he couldnt win us the league if man u, arsenal and chelsea dropped out!

With a bit of luck, Heskey, Biscan, Diouf, and Traore will start complaining too?

hahahha......nice one, but i don't think so. If they wanted to complain they would have done so long time ago. I remember Vignal once complained too about not playing and look where is he...... (loan spell after loan spell).

dude granny,

I don't think any liverpool player has criticised houllier while playing under him (Camara & Westerveld only criticised houllier after they left the club). What most of them said was respective to their own postion ie... don't like sitting on the bench. They have the right to complain. It is their rice bowl. I mean even GH complained when the papers linked MON with liverpool. Why did he do that...? It is because his rice bowl could be affected. So is there anything wrong with Henchoz asking why he is left out.

a)He is 29-30. This is supposed to be his peak as a footballer (first blow).
b)Being dropped for a player not as half good as him (2nd blow).
c)Houllier not speaking to him about it (3rd blow).

No wonder he is speaking out. If my boss, did this to me, i would barge inside his room and question his motive..... no doubt.

For Info :
Thirry Henry has said he was too tired to play so many games (indirectly questioning Wenger). Was he benched ? Keane basically criticses his whole team that other week. Does he get sold ?

I am really disgusted how the situation is going from bad to worse at the club. I get the feeling hamann might be targeted next.

The RocK: read my post again and you'll see I dind't say anything about players criticising Houllier.

I just said that I agreed with Stu that players (in general) shouldn't criticise their managers in public.

:D

I think the only time I can remember of any Liverpool player criticising the Houllier regime was when Baros criticised Phil Thompson when Houllier was out ill.
