League cup team - Who would u put out

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I think it's Rafa's idea to integrate ALL of the youngsters (no matter how young they are) into the Reserves whilst giving the likes of Hamann, Morientes etc a rest (when he can). We have a massive number of games to play this year and I think Rafa's plan is to have a steady pipeline of youngsters pushing for the 1st team in seasons to come rather than have to spend massive amounts of money. I think we can all see that Rafa has a certain kind of player he wants to fit with his style of play. It's clear from our inactivity in the transfer market that there are not many top class players who fit that profile. I reckon buying the youngsters at 16-19 will allow him to mould them into the players he would like them to be. It's a similar approach to that of Arsenal with Fabregas etc. Rafa is here for the long-term and, for that very reason, he is planning medium-long term.

I trust Rafa!!

I'd agree with giving all the youngsters a run. Carson, Hobbs, Roque, Barragan, Antwi, Mellor etc
Senior players should only compete if they are short of fitness.

Hopefully this will be enough to beat the lower league opposition in the first round we play.

                               MORIENTES

That'd be very similar to my team, although maybe Crouchy could play sometimes as well.  Ping Pong could well turn out to be a decent short term solution to the right wing, and the League cup would be the ideal place to have a look at him in that role.  Shame we've got a bye till the third round really!

                                Crouch/Moro

I'd go with Warnock just because he's got such a great attitude - and he's now and England player!  Hopefully it'd rub off on some of the kids.  Riise because he's got a lot of class and quality, which can help turn these matches.  Plus he's played a lot of games for us.  With him, and Didi I reckon we'd have enough experiance to come through the early rounds and improve the kids as players and people.

Carson

Raven   Whitbread    Hobbs     Warnock

                     Hamman

Baraggan          Welsh          Kewell

                 Sinama        Morientes

I agree with "The Ace 1983" Moro needs the confidence booster badly and scoring a few in this competion will go along way to helping that.
I picked Kewell as he needs games to boost his fitness and like Moro he needs to regain his confidence on the ball.
Welsh could do with more experience as he looks to be a good promising player and needs games to prove it.
Hamman would be a steady head for the team
Sinama also needs games up-front to show his abilities and the rest of the youngsters need games under there belt aswell if there gonna be pushing for first team places in the future, like Whitbread and Raven who are close to first team places.

Subs bench: Dudek, Traore, Zenden, sissoko, Crouch

players that can be called on if in a crisis and we need to win, also to get some more match practice in

Ok didnt realise he was on loan, would have to play sissoko instead then, or maybe potter.
