Never do business with

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Real Madrid.

No matter what we could had offered for Michael Owen, Real Madrid would had attempted to screw us over somehow. When we are interested in their players then they are hard to do business with. For instance, we wanted to sign Figo and he was supposed to be let for free. When we came in for Figo, Madrid placed a 2 million pound fee on him.

We could had offered Real Madrid 17 million pounds and they would want us to up that bid for Michael Owen. Last season when we sold him we wanted Juanfran to be included into the Owen deal. Instead we got Nunez who didn't play for Real Madrid's starting eleven at all.

Now Juanfran is on loan to Espanol. Do you see the pattern? So does who think that Benitez and Parry are at fault for not signing Owen then you might want to think about that. I would had liked Owen to play for us again but certainly not for us to break the bank on the player that left us last summer. We would had to pay double the amount and possibly even more just for Madrid to consider selling Owen to us.

I forgot to mention the deal for Morientes. Madrid wanted 10 million for him and I think they wanted Gerrard to be thrown into the deal as well[not exactly sure], I'm not sure how Benitez got Madrid to lower their price for Morientes to 6 million but it just shows that they are c#nts.

Totaly agree with you A.B. Real Madrid seem to think that they are the biggest club in he world and so they can bully other clubs into doing what they want them to do.
The only time I have known Real to get screwed over was last season when they payed 13.75 mil for woodgate; even when he's fit he ain't worth that much so they must have been laughing when the geordies offered 17mill for owen 'cos after spending twelve months warming a bench his stock hasn't risen by that much and i think we've had a lucky escape today. :buttrock

Heh I was tempted to make the same thread. I don't want us to have any relationship with RM because they have :censored: us over with Owen (twice), with McManaman, Figo, Nunez and now it looks like we paid over the odds for Morientes. They tried to unsettled Gerrard and have basically been treating us like some kind of feeder club. Rick Parry has got to say enough is enough.

A.B, every saturday (or Sunday) when I've put my Liverpool scarf away, I'm going to get my BARCELONA scarf out and cheer them on, because on reflection, they have screwed us up on many a time. Well done LFC for not bowing down to them again, WE ARE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!

We shouldn't had payed 6 million for Morientes mostly because he was cup-tied.

In fairness, you cannot blame Madrid for looking after their own interests.....they were hardly going to give Owen back to us for half nothing, especially when Loony Toons offered funny money.

We never had a chance of getting Owen back.

He may have said he wanted to come to Liverpool, but Real would never have allowed it.

He was really placed in the position of either going to the Toon or sitting on the bench in Madrid because they wanted the absurd amount of money that Newcastle offered.

So he probably made the right decision. I still think we'll get him in a year or so.

Barcelona for La Liga!!!!

Madrid still owe money to Newcastle for Woodgate so they may not have been entirely screwed over.
