Real Madrid.
No matter what we could had offered for Michael Owen, Real Madrid would had attempted to screw us over somehow. When we are interested in their players then they are hard to do business with. For instance, we wanted to sign Figo and he was supposed to be let for free. When we came in for Figo, Madrid placed a 2 million pound fee on him.
We could had offered Real Madrid 17 million pounds and they would want us to up that bid for Michael Owen. Last season when we sold him we wanted Juanfran to be included into the Owen deal. Instead we got Nunez who didn't play for Real Madrid's starting eleven at all.
Now Juanfran is on loan to Espanol. Do you see the pattern? So does who think that Benitez and Parry are at fault for not signing Owen then you might want to think about that. I would had liked Owen to play for us again but certainly not for us to break the bank on the player that left us last summer. We would had to pay double the amount and possibly even more just for Madrid to consider selling Owen to us.
