In 1981:

Prince Charles got married.
Coronation Street's Ken and Deirdre got married.
There was a new Doctor Who.
Liverpool won 17 league games and finished 5th in the table.
Norwich and Crystal Palace were relegated.
Liverpool won the European Cup.
West Ham United promoted to top division.
England win Ashes 3-1 after loosing first test.
Liverpool got knocked out of the European cup as the holders by CSKA Sofia 2-1 on agg.

In 2005 :

Prince Charles got married.
Coronation Street's Ken and Deirdre got married.
There was a new Doctor Who.

Liverpool won the European Cup.
West Ham United win promotion to top division.
England loose first test.
Liverpool as holders will play CSKA Sofia in 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League

Don't worry.

History isn't going to repeat itself.

Because in 1981 Prince Charles got married to a woman.

But in 2005, I think he married a man.

So I think we're in the clear.

No, Aston Villa won the 1980/1981 league.

On another forum somebody says that we lost to Sofia in 82 not 81. Can any of the older members here verify this?

Yes, they beat us 2-1 on aggregate in the quarter final.  Aston Villa won it that year.

Had we won, we would have played Bayern Munich in the semi finals who Villa beat in the final incidentally.

Screw the omen. We'll handle Sofia. If we can handle Juventus,Chelsea over two legs and AC Milan then we can handle Sofia.

What you meant to say was can someone who is not a glory hunting moron who has only "supported" Liverpool for two years and has some knowledge of our history confirm this.
