One word - Biscan

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby stmichael » Fri Mar 12, 2004 3:45 pm

I can just imagine the groans and moans amongst Liverpool fans when they saw Biscan warming up on the touchline. I cant print what my reaction was!

He came on and did nothing, never does anything, and Houllier has given him all season to shine. Why o why did he bring him on, are we really that limited on the bench?

I agree.  Pure Sh**te.  Was he wasting time or something?  If so, i don't get that at all.  We needed more time, not to waste it.

Perhaps GH was as p*ssed off watching the game as everyone else was and thought he'd give us laugh by sending Biscan on!
WTF was Houllier thinking ?! Bizarre!! ???

Biscan was really built up b4 he came over, now either they sent the wrong player or GH was having a laugh.  He is quite simply sh#t IMO.  But then Diouf was gonna make us all forget about Anelka and Duff, Bruno was the next Zidane, and Cisse is gonna be a remarkable signing.  Oh dear.
Les Ferdinand and Robbie Savage would of contributed more than the above signings, thats says it all really.

Heskey and Biscan both coming on against Marseille summed it up for me. Apparently Houllier is going to use the defeat at home to Southampton to do the teamtalk there to. He might as well ***** off if he can't even motivate his players. He also says of our remaining league matches "we want to try and win every game" - I should fvckin' hope so, but I suspect he will settle for a draw or two :(

We've got some tough away fixtures remaining -

Southampton - lost to them at Anfield
Leicester - fighting for survival (and to keep players out of jail)
Arsenal - 9 points clear at the top, nuff said
Man Utd - have been humiliated in the league against them in the past 2 seasons
Birmingham - sixth best defensive record in the league, currently above us

I don't think Biscan is anything like as bad as some people make out. I actually think he's half decent and if he'd been given a fair bash from the start we'd have a bloody good player on our hands. Still think he's a premiership player... just not good enough for us.

Never a centre half although he gave it his best there.

The attitude of the fans towards him doesn't help either and the fact he's played out of position. Feel sorry for the lad.

He should sign for someone like Middlesborough or something and show everyone he's not as bad as people thought. Unfortunately i think his chances are gone as has his reputation.

Well said, Stu.
You're a fair, open -minded bloke who talks a great deal of sense.  I'm sick of the vitriolic comments of most of the subscribers to these forums.  Let's all broaden our minds.

I think Biscan is not enough to be let in Liverpool too.

The only position Biscan could conceivably succeed in is right-back, but in the same way you call for us to be "broad-minded" we shouldn't go all out to include him either. He has had his chances, noone should be given preferential treatment

No-one argues he's had chances. He's a centre mid though and never really been able to play there. Technically he is superb apart from a heavy touch at times and he is a very intelligent player aswell as being physically very good.

Its just a case of him never racking up the games and experience i think.

Time for him to go tho.
