Fernando Morientes was unlucky a few times, even Rafa was eager for him to score. LeTallec didnt perform so well, but when Djbriliant Cissé came on, he combined rather well with moro. Gerrard and Alonso played well in CM but i'm quite disappointed with the amount of possession TNS had as they prevented us from playing a few times. I guess that Rafa will again be fielding a strong team in the second leg and let's hope this time we do show our real class as European Champions.

Hahaha, not guilty mate. Maybe he's from the same school of thought tho!
In fairness to Stevie, he showed that when he wants to he is the best central midfielder in the league. I can't remember seeing a better "footballer" at Anfield than Xavi, he is SO comfortable on the ball it's incredible.

I think we just need to be happy that we possibly have 2 of the best midfielders in the world in our team now.
There will be alot of envious people around, like we have envied players at other clubs.
Need one or two central defenders, and a proven striker and we wont be finishing 30-40 points behind the leaders anymore.
Big Niall wrote:I saw the match on tv and thought Morientes was terrible. He didn't do much last season and he better improve if he wants to stay in the team, doesn't look like a £8m player.
Also, why is Cisse on the wing. I thought he was supposed to be a centre forward, down the middle, bang in goals.
