Liverpool winger Alvaro Nunez is joining Celta Vigo for 2.9million euros Rafa Benitez has confirmed, Sky sports news reports. Benitez was reluctant to let the spanish international leave but financial implications were blamed & mostly the funding of a "big transfer" Benitez went on to say that the funds he had were allocated to certain areas of the squad & this transfer needed other funding. Sparking talk that the Figo transfer was back on & that Liverpool had decided the player thought to be on a free was going to cost them some monies. The selling of Nunez leaves a big hole on the right of the squad with only Finnan, Gerard & Kewell playing in that position recently. Nunez who's short Liverpool career will be remembered as a flop was quoted that he was sad to be leaving but admitted that the pace & aggression of the league had caused him major problems. YNWA

I meant i couldnt believe he was a internation, espically for spain, meanin i didnt trust the article.

Glad to see this.

While I feel a bit sorry for Nunez, he was injured when he first came and didn't start many games, he never really showed any real quality when he did play.

Whereas Houllier still relied on some of the flops he signed, Rafa is proving to be more ruthless.

I've been anti Crouch and anti Figo ,but if Rafa has his heart set on one of them I'd rather see him shell out a couple of mill for Figo ,at least he won't be here that long .
