Nunez - Whatever happened to our right winger?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

:oh:

Nunez was okay on the right wing. What happened to him ?

Rafa is looking for a right winger now. Wasnt he good? I find him very fast and makes same good cross.

Remember when Chelski beat us 3-2 in the League Cup Final.
Nunez came in as a substitute and made avery good run and Liv scored a second(but it was not enough) Had there been a bit more time, I think we could have done it.

I think the transfer was more closely linked to him being poo, rather than any Figo shananagans.

put in a decent ball, but had no pace a never got the better of his full back regardless of the calibre of the opponent. Only good game he had was at home to villa last year, which is suprising since barry was at left back but other than that he did nothing and was given more than enough opportunities.

Nunez was about as useful as a choclate T-cup.

From what I have seen throughout the season, Nunez always looked uncomfortable and unconfident on the ball and end up fluffing up the countless promising attacks, either by providing a disappointing cross or being easily outrunned by the opposition defender. Due to his relatively bulky size and stature (comparable to Rooney though), many could see him not as a natural footballer but only as a squad player who would deputise during the first-choice's absense. However, bear in mind that there is no point in keeping foreign squad players when they constantly eat into our wage bill without giving any worthwhile contributions. The likes of Potter and Finnan could easily do a better job.

How much did we get for him in the end?  I remember talk of about 1.4 million but does anyone know for certain how much we recieved?
