he should be stripped of the captaincy after this saga though. I don't care what anyone says, a captain shoudln't conduct himself like this.

agree with you jbg.
i'am speechless.i've been sulking for the last 3 hours.live in australia.only found out about him saying he wanted to leave bout 3 hours ago.come on interneet to see what latest is and now he stays.
i'am pleased.because he is a good player.but i'am still not sure bout him as a man.
hope this doest happen next year.
has he signed yet.
how long is the contract
and is he going to give a press confrence.

Steven just released a statment to SSN. Basically thanking Struan for helping him, and convincing him to stay. I think initially SM may have been part of the blam but the other senior SFX members and the people from RM AND c were to blame. But its all over now.

must have been that email i sent sfx last night threatening to send the boys down to sort them out

im glad he is staying now, but you can understand people being angry cos it looked like he was turning his back on us after a great year, but where does this leave the team, do you think there were some members of the team who were happy that he was going so that the attention could be on the team for a change and not just him? is it going to affect the team now he is staying?
as long as he is truly commited now, and we dont come to the same situation again we should get behind him now,
theyre showing phil thompson on SSN now, great man

It sounds to me that SG is thanking his agent to deflect any blame pointed at sfx .I think this is bollox
Sfx have to much power as agents and think they can get away with anything the want (they are the chelski of agents ) sg MUST leave them after this farce

to be honest i'm speechless about this whole situation. yesterday we were resigned to losing him and all of a sudden he wants to stay. is his heart really in this club? if it is you don't threaten to leave twice and then magically have a change of heart.

believe me, i'm delighted he's decided to stay but i'm extremely suspicious about the whole situation. it seems to me that gerrard is very insecure when it comes to making his own decisions.

not sure of RB part in this but i dont think it helped, it sounded like Parry spent most of last night trying to fix what RB broke
