Heck, don't know what to think now really :O

I'm not sorry for slagging him off, he shouldn't give the fans that love him such a rollercoaster ride.
Still If not this summer I see the same scanrio coming next year, hope I'm wrong, hope SG will show his best preformances for us this season, and that he'll realise that money isn't everything !! :O

I had a feeling this might happen which is why until i saw him in another clubs strip i wouldnt slag him of.

no! Because yesterday he hurt a lot of fans so we were within our rights to sl&g him off and vent our frustration. we have nothing to be ashamed of so no, I wont be holding my head in shame.

I think you should stop right there pal.

God, i don;t know what to say and think,

Since i heard he was off, i've spent the whole morning telling myself "we'll its for the best, we'll be okay" like you do when you split up with you missus, failing the whole time to convince myself that we didn't want him really, trying again ti imagine seeing him in the Blue of Chelsea, (and failing to even picture that)

And now, i sit at work, waiting for the flood of abuse to fly in from my mates, i find it ws all a mis-understanding, and that he saying, all we need is ink on contract and were good to go for another 6 yrs, we may not even have the same Stevie Circus next year (or the next 3-4 yrs after)

Reading everyone else on the forum hurting like me, and dealing with it different ways "didn't want him'......'rather have the mney''..........to the extreme of hating the guy,

And now this, he staying

:p

thing is after everything thats happenned, i half expect the situation to change again.....

one of the guys earlier said this was a bigger come back than in Istambul, for me it's like when you are at a funeral, and you are there hoping for the coffin lid to jump open and your loved one to jump out and say "it was all a big joke...sorry for scaring you" except this isn't a daydream.....

I had to have stitches in my head last night, i'm going back to the hospital to make sure there was no other damage, as this is unreal//

soz for the long post boys (and girls), it was get it out now you run around my office cheering like a looney.
As always I am focused on supporting the Cloob and the Manager

Dav, not all of us slagged him off. Read my lengthy post in another thread in which I stated that whilst I wasn't bitter that he was going, I explained why I thought he was bad for our club and why it was better for us all that he left.

I still stand by that, and unless Stevie learns his lesson and lets his football do the talking from now on, unfortunately we could be in store for more of the same nonsense.

I nearly put the car in the ditch when I heard this. I was expecting some news on where he was going, only to hear he decided to stay.

Not sure how I feel about it either. I have mixed feelings about it, is he 100% committed now or will it be the same :censored: next year as well?? He a bit of work to do to win me back

Stevie needs to sort himself out.  He needs to come out publicly and state that he is staying, and start acting like a member of the team.  He needs to look at JC's commitment, and mirror it with his own.  And next year, when the talk of transfers to other clubs raises it's ugly head again, he needs to come out publically, at the start, and say he's not leaving under any circumstances.  I just don't think I could endure another "Should I stay, or should I go?" episode.

Above all, he needs to put the needs of the team first.  If he is the captain next year (and of course he will be), he needs to start acting like one - motivating the team when we are getting beaten, saying at press conferences that "of course we are going to win", and not throwing the toys out of the pram when it goes wrong.

Come on Stevie, raise my expectations again, make me proud again to have you as our captain, and show us you are the greatest Midfielder, not just for a few minutes in a season, but the whole season.

Im sure everyone was thiking about what to do with £40M but in all honesty £45M cant buy you a player like Steve Gerrard.Hes bigger than money.

I'm delighted he's decided to stay, but he has damaged the bond he once had with the club and the fans which imo works in our favour. No longer can he sit in his ivory tower and call the shots like a spoilt brat, he's played a game of call my bluff and got his fingers burnt - now he has to regain the respect which everybody had for him until about a year ago and the only way he can do that is to sign the deal, go on record and say categorigally that he is going NOWHERE and put the whole matter to bed once and for all
Then he will have to let his football do the talking which we all know he is oh-so-capable of if he puts his mind to it

Come on Stevie, rise to the challenge and make us the best team in England
