You have to admire his optimism, this is from the skysports website:

Marcus Bent insists Everton hold no fear of Liverpool if the two Merseyside outfits are to meet in the UEFA Champions League.

The two old rivals could play each other at the qualification stage should Liverpool prevail against TNS in the first round of Europe's premier competition.

Bent admits to being hungry for the new campaign to start as Everton look to consolidate and improve on last season's excellent season, in which they finished fourth.

''Let's get Liverpool and go all out and try to achieve some more,'' Bent told Sky Sports News.

''Now it's time for us to get back to work and try to achieve something this season.

''To try and work on it and get a lot of confidence from it - we need to push on and hopefully do well in the Champions League.''

Personally I think everton will struggle to get to the group stages whether its us they play or someone else.  That would fairly wipe the smile off moyes' face.  No wait a minute, I forgot the sour-faced git doesn't smile

get clean sheets in one game against Juve and then 2 against chelsea?
No way.  Everton may qualify ( i doubt it) and make it to the group stage but thats as far as they'll go.  of course, if they draw us, they wont make it to the group stage.  They'll bow out crying like babies after the beating we give them.

An Everton fan made me laugh the other day....he said "If Liverpool can win the Champions league, so can we.  I expect us to make the semi's at least next season"

That fan is a bit optimistic there.

Let the babies have their fun, they're gonna be playing with the big boys next year and get to see how football should be played....then we'll have our laughs when they get humiliated!
