That's problem though, all we have is speculation. There's squat coming out of Anfield about anything.

If he go he goes at least we will make a fortune on him.
I stick of all this is he or isnt he, even Rafa hinted that all speculation over Gerrard futre was disruptive to the team last season.
I be gutted if he goes but no one is bigger then the club

We need to be building a team to play football for the next few years, not making patchwork quilts!

He may be a big name, but there's no room for carrying 'past it' passengers. Same with Figo. Not saying he's totally past it, but coming here for a couple of years on huge wages, why would any such player care whether they play or not? He's another of the 'thanks, but no thanks' players.

If Vieri wants another big payday and a chance to prove that he's not past it, there's always Bolton or Newcastle. They're suckers for that kind of sh#t. :D

From liverpoolfc.tv

Liverpool and Tottenham have been put on red alert after Italy striker Christian Vieri had his contract at Inter Milan surprisingly cancelled by mutual consent, reports Setanta.

The 32-year-old player has set his heart on a move to England and reports in Italy claim Tottenham could be his destination - but Liverpool have now quickly entered into the equation.

Inter said on their official website: "Inter and Christian Vieri have decided to rescind the player's contract by mutual consent with the club, due to expire on June 30 2006.

"Negotiations between the player and the club progressed smoothly, and the documents related to the issue were registered at the Lega Calcio (Football League) offices this morning.

"FC Internazionale thanks Christian Vieri for his contribution to the history of the club over the past six years.

"Christian Vieri thanks Inter and its fans for the professional respect and affection which characterised the relationship."

Vieri looks like he's coming to england.  I think he's a little too old for this team.

MEDIA WATCH
  20K LURE FOR JAMIE
Daily Mirror 01 July 2005

Jamie Carragher is being offered a £20,000- a-week pay rise by Liverpool as reward for his outstanding form.

The defender's agent, Struan Marshall, met Anfield chief executive Rick Parry on Wednesday to open discussions about a two-year contract extension.

The talks were described as "constructive" and more are planned.

Carragher, 27, has two years left on his current £40,000-a-week deal and Liverpool want to keep him until at least 2009.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez believes Carragher would be worth every penny of his proposed pay rise and has hailed his converted centre-half as the best defender in England.

It is an amazing turn around for Carragher, who feared for his first-team place two years ago when Ireland full-back Steve Finnan moved to Liverpool.

i'll drink to that :buttrock

Steven Gerrard's Liverpool contract talks have reportedly hit crisis point with the Anfield skipper "very tempted" to join Real Madrid.

Champions League glory against AC Milan just over a month ago seemed to have persuaded Gerrard that his long-term future lay on Merseyside.

But now according to The Scum he is disappointed the club did not agree new terms straight after the Istanbul triumph.

Kop bosses held another round of talks on Friday, but according to the tabloid they hit their lowest point yet.

Club officials now fear Gerrard could now see his future in Spain with Real, who are believed to be prepared to offer a staggering pay packet of £150,000 per week.

The Bernabeu outfit have offered £20million plus Argentine central defender Walter Samuel in a bid to make Liverpool part with their most prized asset.

But boss Rafa Benitez slammed that deal as "unacceptable".

Real have also said Luis Figo can join Liverpool on a free transfer if he can agree terms with the Anfield club.

What i want is gerrard's signature....

I want nothing unless Gerrard sign another new deal.

Sad when rumours stevie is off to real madrid.

Please do not go anyway but Anfield.
