Didi played in the CL final with a broken leg but it was not mentioned if he had picked up this injury before or during the match. He played through the pain barrier and had an excellent game. He is not super quick but has other qualities to impose himself in that game and showed his big heart to rise superbly to the occassion.

Unlike a certain "flair" player who despite not being entirely fit for the past few weeks leading to the CL final, decided to show us how tiny his heart is, and that was why he was booed by his own fans when he came off. This is why a player like Hamann is so valued by all of us.

i wouldn't call 31 yrs.....as someone oldish. Hamann is one of the best in the anchor role. He can play there until he is 35 (given that he keeps up his fitness).

I'm delighted to say the least....  :D
