Fair enough mate!  The basic point is that we all know how important Makelele is to Chel$ea, but he makes some interesting points about how important Gudjohnsen is in turning defence into attack...with Robben and Duff both coming back from injury, we should give them a few kicks early on, put a man on Gudjohnsen and hassle the sh*t out of Makelele...

All he described was how you play football, what a defensive mid does, and why passing the ball is a good idea..... doesn't seem like a genius to me.

Tuesday nights chelski tactics: drogba to win an occasional long ball and knock down to lampard but lampard unable to shoot cos hamanns on him like flys on sh1t. Robben denied space by finnan all day up the left. duff unable to get beyond the long legs of traore. Liverpool win 2-0
Steve Gerrard Gerrard,
He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
He's quick and he's f*cking hard,

What about Duff, Rpbben, Lampard, Gudjohnsen, Drogba and any other chelski player on the field to "trip" over Traore's legs

3 changes:

1)I wouldn't station dudek at the corner flag :rasp
2)I wouldn't leave such a huge cap in front of dudek. :p
3)Gerrard & Garcia swop places.

I personally would play more like this.

                             DUDEK
            FINNAN   CARRA   HYYPIA   TRAORE
                             HAMANN
                    GARCIA  BISCAN   RIISE
                              GERARRD
                           BAROS/CISSE
With Chelsea's tendency to play a narrow attacking core up front, this would do well to stop any chelsea threat.  Also one the ball is picked up by either Garcia or riise on the wings, they can cross it into 2 or 3 people in the box off a counter attack.  Also Gerrad is free to roam around as he should.
