come on why do you guys need the reminding of Juan's injury? isnt it already on the main topic, the preview that i have written?

anyways i prediction would be a 1-1 draw, i predict a garcia goal and a leverkusen onslaught.

Not to tempt fate or anything, but i nearly hope when we are in the CL Final we will be up against Barcelona, so we can throw around Ronaldinho like a ****** rag doll.  Wtf does he mean when he says that all english teams will be knocked out.  Lets analyze this statement for a second.  Assuming that Leverkusen could overtake us, then whats to stop Arsenal probably the most productive team in the world from overturning an equal deficit?  Gotta love the uneducated ******, just summarizes why i thought Henry should have had Fifa world player of the year. t******

We'll go through.

I'm thinking either 1-1 or 2-1 to them.

1-1. We can't sit back and try do defend in this one. We have to go and get a goal early to make it an even playing field.

We held out for 80 odd minutes against Chelsea!  Until, "somebody" scored an OG!

Mmm?..i would like to believe that score! but knowing rafa's away tactics in these games i think he will pack the midfield, and leave baros up on his own ???  i go for 1-1 on the night :;):

now that the squad is confirmed, i THINK the most probable lineup that rafa will choose would be:
------------Dudek

Finnan Carra Hyypia Warnock

Garcia Biscan Hamann Gerrard Riise

------------Baros

But if it was me, I would have chosen something similar but replace nunez with garcia and gerrard pushes forward as a supporting striker role. by doing this, we would not lose the cheaply too much through garcia and we would not sit back too much as gerrard has got the license to roam forwards. what do u guys think?

LIVERPOOL (Reuters) - Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez will rely on Dietmar Hamann's knowledge of German football to ensure his side do not suffer more Champions League woe at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen.

Liverpool, who lost 4-2 at the Bayer Arena in the 2002 quarter-finals to go out of the competition, take a 3-1 lead into the second leg on Wednesday.

"I will talk with Didi Hamann because he knows better than the others the mentality of the German teams," Benitez told reporters on Tuesday.

"We will talk about how they will play in the first 20 minutes, their style and their tempo because Didi will know these things better than me."

Hamann's surprise substitution in Leverkusen three years ago helped turn the tide in the German's favour.

It released the shackles on playmaker Michael Ballack and he inspired the German side to three goals in the final 27 minutes.

Polish keeper Jerzy Dudek will play despite spilling a last-minute shot at Anfield to allow Franca to score what could be a vital away goal for Leverkusen.

"I have confidence in Jerzy. I watched the video of the game against Leverkusen and he played well," Benitez said. "Only at the end did he misjudge the bounce of the ball but he saved two or three difficult shots.

"Dudek will play and also Steven Gerrard, who was suspended from the first game. He is a key player and if he plays well, normally we play well. These kind of games are made for people like him."

Benitez, who will be without injured Australian forward Harry Kewell, watched highlights of Liverpool's European Cup win over Real Madrid in 1981 before flying out to Germany.

"I watched some DVDs looking for information about Liverpool. It is an inspiration for me. They said then to pass and move. It is not so easy now, but it is something we try," he said.

Liverpool have lost their last two matches, 3-2 after extra time in the League Cup final to Chelsea and 1-0 in the Premier League at Newcastle United.
