Igor Biscan

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

OK, he is a cult figure and we've all had a little chuckle to ourselves at his ambling round the pitch as well as his permanent bemused expression. The guys always gonna be remembered years after leaving the club, despite having made such little impression on the pitch. But i think its high time we stopped laughing and started looking at what he does for the team.

Ive watched him in the past few games and even though he looks moderately comfortable on the ball and is capable of the odd shimmy past a couple of players, he really gives us NOTHING when we dont have the ball. If hes going to take up the position of semi defensive midfielder, then i expect him to be constantly harrying and pressurising the opposition. Instead he tends to look totally disintrested and we look a man short with him in the midfield. He walks faster than he runs and he looks as bothered when we lose as when we win.

I dont mean for this to sound like im crucifying Igor because i do think he has some qualities to be a premiership footballer. But he does not show the most important (and sometimes only) quality that a paying fan demands. Effort.

I really hope he leaves this summer not only for the benfit of the club but also so the humourous status that hes unknowingly built for himself isnt tarnished.

Ah, Igor. Created from dismembered ex-footballers and with the brain of a chimp with an under-active imagination by the mad scientist, Dr Houllier-stein. His mission: Unknown. His Purpose: ...er... unknown. Where will he go? Who gives a ******. Some people are still conviced he was hired as a ball boy and just started turning up at the training sessions, others believe he is part of some ancient curse inflicted on the club by the arch-sorcerer Alex Fergiscum and his impish sidekick Carlos the Failure, and others just don't care. They just want him to leave. I am one of these people. If Igor Biscan fell down a well tomorrow, I really wouldn't care. He's done nothing for me, why should I do anything for him.

Do you remember the start of the season, the friendlies, when Biscan't actually looked like he knew what he was supposed to be doing on that large patch of green stuff?

He actually, but don't quote me, looked like a footballer.  I know it might supprise you, but yes Biscan't, for 2-3 games, looked like BisCAN.

But something wen't wrong.  His brain went into meltdown, and he lost the plot.  Either taht, or the batteries ran done on his radio controller, and Rafa couldn't be @rsed getting new ones.

I dont think he can adapt to the speed of the premiership although he plays well in the Champions league.

Nice fella but....he has been given a hell of a lot of opportunities compared with other players at the club.I find it amazing that we did not sell him when one or two clubs were allegedly interested (Portsmouth I think). He was not sold in the transfer window because of the injuries. He will be sold or loaned in the summer. - Good luck to him.
