Liverpool is arrogant and disrespectful

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Another debatable topic, any argument?

Phillips blast for Reds

Bournemouth chairman Peter Phillips has branded Liverpool "arrogant and disrespectful" after the Cherries missed out on a lucrative FA Cup trip to Anfield.

The south-coast club will instead travel to Burnley in the fourth round after the Clarets beat a weakened Liverpool side 1-0 at Turf Moor.

"Obviously we are very disappointed for the fans, players and also the club as a whole because it is a significant financial loss," Phillips told the Daily Echo.

"But I am particularly disappointed in the way that Liverpool approached the game - they were arrogant and disrespectful to a very important competition. Frankly, they got what they deserved.

"We're frustrated that we have had the chance of going to Liverpool snatched away from us - but at least Burnley are an honest team who want to win the FA Cup - Liverpool clearly were not."

If respect for the FA cup is about winning it then they should be happy as Burnley should be easier.

If "respect" is about making money it'd explain why he's p1ssed off.

Hypocrite.

Disrespectful? To whom? Nobody has the right to teach how the manager should run the club. It is up to the fans to stand by the manager's decision. I think it is no big deal. All over Europe, big clubs rotate their players, in order to bring the best out of them. So what is the big fuss now? Perhaps wait till they achieve Liverpool's glory and achievment, then I will start to listen.

He has a point, big club's playing with their teams do unbalance Cup competitions.
The FA Cup is a big money spinner for lower teams, indeed often a lifeline.
Tranmere Rovers have survived on Cup money in recent years.

...but there's no rule in football stating that we owe any team their big pay day by getting thru winning/losing certain matches. They should instead thank us for giving them an easier passage to the later rounds, and bring glory to his club. But then I doubt he take the FA Cup all that serious as well...freakin right, a brainless scumbag and a hypocrite

What a TW*T
The only bit I agree with is we got what we deserved - but purely for a poor performance.
Wouldn't he like to be in the position of playing the likes of Chelski, The Scum & a team from the Champions League - see if he didn't rotate his squad a bit.

Mind you - with the amount of money some of these Tiddler teams make from the F A Cup - it sorts them out for the next five - ten years
no wonder he feels a bit put out

Stu Averill, a wannabe Scouse/Scot. I remember the good times & have faith in them comin back

Beside the Hillsborough Flame, I heard a Koppite mournin, "Why so many taken on that day?" Justice has never been done. But their memory we'll carry on. There'll be Glory Round The Fields Of Anfield Road
