To me, the team selection and apparent subsequent apathetic attitude shown by our Manager seems to indicate that we no longer have the winning of trophies as the main ambition, but simply to qualify for the European Cup in order to guarantee £10m revenue each season. It's a sad state of affairs, but it's a fact.  :(

i have always been of the opinion that you play your strongest side, we did not do that against burnley and we got punished for it. A.B as supporters we have a right to say what we feel about our club, its not hypocritical to criticise for this debacle, even if another poster advocated the use of youngsters previously he now has a right to say that on Tuesday the manager made the wrong decision. i dont understand how people can defend the manager for his team choice.

and i will reiterate, i am not a boo boy and until i moved to malaysia 2 years ago i did not miss many home games between 1973 and 2002, i also attended many away games, so i know a lot more about the clubs history than some little bandwagon jumper.

I expect you will wish to start an argument about this AB but i advise you not to as you dont have the intelligence to hold a proper worthwhile discussion, take of your rose tinted glasses and for once in your life see failure as it is, the manager failed us as did the players on the night. thats a fact. look at the result and then tell me it was a succsesful night

No you don't understand what I am saying, I've been misunderstood. Theres a difference between contstructive criticism and rubbish. As fans we have the right to say whats on our mind but if we are going to say anything it should be constructive criticism. Yes Benitez has made a mistake but it's not the end of the world. FA Cup was an extremely important cup to win and to participate in however football is business and because of that Champions League and Premier League are important to top sides. It seems that the FA cup is more important to smaller clubs than it is to Premiership sides for whatever season. Times have changed. We could had won the FA Cup but not finished in the top four meaning that we couldn't qualify for the Champions League.

We need money and that's why Champions League is so important, we couldn't possibly be able to compete in all four competions. Thats hard to admit but thats the reality, we don't have enough depth in our squad at the moment.

i.e. "Garcia is rubbish" Yes he's in bad form but as a player overall I don't think he's rubbish, I believe the time to judge the Spanish players will be at the end of the season.

No I will not argue with you, I have no reason to do so. The reason I made this thread is to start a debate. Did some of us expect too much from the manager in his first season? I've heard many fans say that we would win the league because we bought Cisse.

It is going to take a bit longer than just one season to get where we need to be.

Thats rich coming from you . In another thread you're jumping all over the youngsters .Hypocrite ,? lmfao.

Their performance was poor as they played with no passion and did not attempt to create anything on the pitch. We never looked like we were going to win the game. I do not want to see the youngsters play again if they are going to perform like they did the other day. If they tried and gave it their all and lost then that would be different.

I don't mean to have a go AB but I don't know what you mean about that.

If Bryan Robson had the players he wanted at WBA he'd be top if the Premiership, if my local pub side had the players it wanted we'd be playing AC Milan in the next round of the CL and not Man UTD.

There's no arguement in your point at all.

Benitez messed up the other night, although the players on the pitch have to shoulder a lot of responsibility, as the Burnley manager stated that he'd give his right arm for guys like Mellor, Warnock, Welsh and Raven, let alone our first teamers.

Personally I thought the defeat to Burnley was humiliating, but I'm not too down about it.

No what I ment by that is if we had the right funds then Rafa could purchase the players that could help us build an effecient squad. He has to work with he has but had not Houllier[with all due respect] spent so much money on players such as Diao,Diouf,etc... we may not had been in the same situation as we are now.

Chelsea can buy success because they have a mobster who has the money. They have two quality players in every position and if we had anywhere near the amount of money Chelsea have then Rafa would have better players than Biscan,etc....

it is absolutely remarkable that you can come on here and say that you hate hypocrites AB. you're one of them. ???

i remeber in another thread you saying that you "didn't want to ever see potter, welsh in a liverpool shirt again"

No I don't want to see them again if they are going to perform with no passion like they did this week.

Theres a difference when you say that Garcia is rubbish and then you saying that we should not critisize him. I said to give time to Nunez,Garcia,etc.. as they are new players. But Traore has been in the Premier League to know not to pull a stunt that he did which led to an own goal.

This season realisticly did you see us winning a trophy? Maybe the Carling Cup but apart from that did you see us holding any other trophy? We need all the money we can possibly get in order to purchase good players who with we can make a solid squad.

It is going to take some time but it's not going to happen overnight.

I appologize if I have insulted anybody in my post but what I ment by my post is to give more time to the new players and the manager. If we lose it's not the end of the world, theres a lot of work to be done and as much as it hurts to lose we have to walk on.

Some have misunderstood what I'm trying to say and that's my fault as I did not make the post clear enough.

Brilliant theory. How did you come up with "he has never been to a top class game anywhere in his life"? Einstein I've been to a football match but not at Anfield. Supposedly if you haven't been to Anfield then you've never seen a football match.

Brilliant.

Stick a torch up your a$$ and I'm sure you'll get the message.  As much as you talk about what I have said, you've said incredibly stupid things.

Face it A.B. mate, you fecked up. Leon picked you up on it and the evidence is absolutely irrefutable. That said, we've all posted something in anger then forgotten all about it afterwards so just hold your hands up and forget it. Maybe if you weren't so confrontational absolutely all the time, then people wouldn't take such great delight in picking you up.
People who disagree are not retards or feckwits, well not all the time anyhow, they just don't agree. As you've proven, everyone posts sh!te sometimes (simply because what you've posted can't all be right as it directly contradicts itself). Hold your hands up, admit you ballsed it up and move on.
