I have to disagree about Traore, Andy. I think Duff or Robben would take him to the cleaners. The guy doesn't have the balance necessary to deal with a fleet footed winger.

4 4 2 is the way to go for me,
Kewell on the left if fit and risse left back If he's still out its risse in midfield and Traore left back ,Gotto to have stevie on the right for this one with him dropping into the middle when he feels the need ,Finnan will be back as well so he can push up leaving Stevie free to drift in ,Hamaan as usual breaking up everything in front of the defence Xabi splaying pass'es all over the place with Baros and Mellor up front getting physical.

Traore has improved under Benitez but he's passing skills are below average. He's good in the air but average on the ground as he looses the ball a bit too much. I'd pick Riise over him because Riise has the experience.

agree with that mick, I was listening to Ronnie Moran during the Soton game the other day and he was saying that he had a match where a winger was all over him because he was giving him far too much space, and one of the coaches at the time told him to stick tight on him and he basically shut the guy out for the rest of the game.

I think we need to have a similar philosophy with Robben and Duff, of course their is the danger of them going by you, but if Rafa can get Kewell, Garcia or whoever is playing on the wings to drop back and help our fullbacks then it could be effective, add to that Hamann breaking up Chelsea attacks through the centre.

Also, to be a bit cynical, if Robben or Duff goes by you in a dangerous position their is no harm in fouling them, maybe you have to sacrifice a yellow card or two - but if we win who cares.

I agree, it will be a big day for the full-backs and wingers. If he is fit i have to go with Kewell on the left. I know his form is patchy but the lad has worked his ****** off when we have lost the ball this season. Likewise, Pongo showed he was willing to do the ugly stuff when playing on the right against the Arsenal so he shades it over Garcia and Nunez for me.

agree Scottbot, Nunez and Garcia don't quite have the bottle and physical presence to so the job we need of them. Tehy will be useful acquisitions on the bench though as if we are in need of a goal, you can bring these players on who wlll add a lillte more flair and attacking edge.
