Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby A.B. » Sat Nov 27, 2004 3:14 am

From what I've read Benitez will buy a striker or two and a right winger come January. I was expecting Benitez to be looking for a good defender but I guess we will have to wait and see. Post your thoughts on the matter.

for a striker he might go for two, maybe david villa or morintes (not both cost to mutch) and he might go fo another cheap one to boost the numbers

i herd we might go for solori off madrid, he's out of contract in the summer and doesnt want to stay so he would be cheap, (left winger maybe a replacment for kewell??)

as for a defender maybe collicini off milan? around 5million he would be.

my realistic short list would be:

strikers:
morientes
defoe
yakubu
myabe beattie

midfeild:
sean wight phillips
vicente (defintly)
solori
malbranque

Denfence:
colocini
upson?
ledley king

one out of each would be nice :), not gonna happen thow lol

yes, i read somewhere we are being linked with upson. Not sure if he is the mobile, pacy defender we are looking for. Although i give hyppia a lot of stick, he is still competant enuff as a CB. Instead of buying a cheap CB in january, i rather rafa buys an expensive (but world cla$$) one in the summer.

In the current situation, a fox or 2 in the box is a must.

left winger maybe a replacment for kewell??)

I think Nunez will be the replacement for Kewell, that's why Benitez is supposedly looking for a right winger while Nunez is a left winger.

He can play on the right as well as up front but his natural position is on the left.

ive seen yakubu a few times now, and i think he is a good up and coming striker, the man plays with heart. I know you think me as just some Canadian smuck, but I think if we each have a player like a Gerrard on midfield and a Carrager(i know ive spelt it wrong) on defence and A Person Who Playes With Heart On Striker, that we will be alot better off. I also think this guy will flourish under RB the man has style and pace, but the main weapon he has is heart, without heart a player is just another Kewell. Hey i might be wrong about the guy but hell atleast i have an opinion on him.

don't think yakubu will be up for sale.
And what you say bout heart is true - but alot of that comes if you really support the club.

i actually dont think so, i believe his contract is not up for another 2 years. If he was i think it would be a great investment and he wouldnt be that expensive.
