A good performance tonight will help us get that City game out of our system, as i said in the City matchday thread we can take a lot of positives from that game on Sunday, despite missing 3 players who would have almost certainly started the game while it was XI v XI we were more than holding our own.

Yep that was a good half. Quick, direct, no nonsense football! No dwelling on the ball giving teams time to low block. As soon as Araujo, Jacquet and Nyoni get the ball they are looking straight up and starting attacks. I moan alot of Dom taking too long on the ball, but hes not the only one.. Van Dijk can take too long to get the ball moving, and at times Kerkez takes too many touches, throws his hands up like hes no options, and plays a safe ball back. Barcola has benefited at lot with Tsmikas and Wirtz playing quick accurate balls to him.


Its no suprise to me that the 3 I've mentioned taking too long on the ball are not playing tonight and we are 3-0 up.

Dare i say it we are looking much more like the team we were a few years ago, Wirtz, Barcola and Rio look superb but everyone is playing well, that half was a pleasure to watch actually, exactly what we needed after the weekend.

I put on the Wirtz thread that he was pressing too much and getting knackered from it.. not only that, he was always out of position chasing balls down. He looks like hes got more of a free role tonight, finding pockets of space and doing alot of damage. Hes not really pressing much tonight aswell, so im guessing Iraola also picked up on this.

We are a better CL side than PL side, the slower pace and less physical tackles are allowing our struggling players to shine. This game specifically seems more a training match with so much space and no hard tackles. I’ll take it but we shouldn’t get carried away, this is not a very good team. Happy for Barcola to get a hatrick

He's half decent going forward though, that was a cracking header and a good ball for Barcola's third too.

PSG are wiping the floor with City, they are 3 up at HT, its at City's ground as well.

Cracking game to watch it has to be said. The first 35 mins PSG gave them a right schooling

Weak oppo but nice to see Barcola getting his first goal and hatrick lol. Good performance apart from the goals conceeded.
