My point Kazza is where are those teams now that there is a pricetag of €130 million on his head?  Apparently, he prefers LIVERPOOL to PSG which sounds like agents speak for getting a crazy price for his player. Have PSG even put in a bid ? I take your point that Isaac and Wirtz were bought on the basis, that they are quality players. Hopefully we will see a lot more from them next season however so far due to injuries and acclimatising themselves to the premiership we certainly haven’t seen them at their best. I would be amazed if this kid came in and set the world on fire in his first season. The premiership is probably the toughest league in the world and the Bundesliga simply does not compare.

Since it’s not my money it’s easy for me to say buy at any price, I just want a young bunch of talented players. In terms of him taking a while to settle I’d say he looks strong, fast and direct and I think his game will be suited to the PL especially as a wide player. If he does take a season to find his feet, which I don’t think he will, I’d be forgiving since he’s only 19. Bottom line I’d rather go for players chased by Real Madrid, City, BM and PSG than players chased by Newcastle, ManUre, Spurs etc. I’m sure if I was writing the cheques I’d second guess the price but for years we talked about net spend and how little we spend, surely we have the cushion.

Having said all that I think we need to solidify the defense as I think next season it will be our Achilles heel

I’ve just read that PSG within the last 24 hours have stated that they no longer have an interest in Diomande due to the escalating price - quelle surprise !! No wonder it has been suggested that his preferred choice is LIVERPOOL rather than PSG .It’s all very well other major clubs showing an interest but it only really means anything if they are prepared to make meaningful bids. Let’s face it agents are parasites and they will do everything possible to increase the transfer fee by throwing in major names such as Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and PSG. €20 million to €130 million due to one decent season in the Bundesliga seems extreme. I certainly wouldn’t sign the cheque.

I totally agree, and I’ve stated it myself on a number of occasions that we didn’t do enough in the transfer market both when we won the league and the Champions League. However, I have also stated that throwing shed loads of money at the transfer market does not necessarily win you anything. Just look at what Manchester United and Chelsea have achieved over the last decade.

Both LFC and PSG are sponsored by Nike. Both Nike and Adidas have big says in who 'their' teams buy etc.. so this may have been settled behind closed doors. I've always suspected the top 6 in the EPL negotiate off line to allow a chosen team direct access to keep the fees within reason. Except with Isak obviously...

Its looking like we are favourites to sign him anyway. Its a lot of money for potential and it will put a lot of pressure on him to deliver. I dont care about the money either, just happy to see us address a position we need to. Personally I would have went fir that Somerville lad and a new DM.

Bouaddi looks good as well. Been impressed with him but he's another that will cost 100mil.

We are interested in alot of young talent. I've seen enough of Diomande to know hes going to be a massive hit here.. that Munoz kid looks quick and agile aswell. We are looking at that 19 year old Moroccan midfielder from Lille and also Kees Smit who looks a very talented player.

I don’t follow world football quite as much as you do, mate but I certainly do remember everybody getting very excited about Wirtz who’s so far certainly hasn’t set the world on fire and just look at the league he came from. I know it’s not an absolute given because Slob came from the same league and so did Konate. Naby was another one who came from a poor Austrian league.

“Forest are interested in Tottenham's Lucas Bergvall, along with Davide Frattesi of Inter Milan, and are now expected to sign two midfielders this summer,” the report reads.

Who could leave Liverpool this summer


Curtis Jones

With a contract expiring in 2027 and no positive talks taking place, an exit could materialise if Liverpool receive a bid close to their £35 million valuation. Inter Milan are currently at the front of the line, but will have to considerably improve their opening offer.

Harvey Elliott

Will be given a chance to impress Iraola after a season spent on the sidelines at Aston Villa, but the sense around the club is that the door remains firmly open to any suitable incoming offers.



Wataru Endo

After playing just 455 minutes last season, the midfielder will be eager to find a club prepared to give him regular minutes at this stage of his career. His experience would remain valuable if he stayed, but all signs point to a summer exit.

Federico Chiesa

Another player who is desperate to play regularly and is unlikely to find that at Anfield, though crunch talks will take place with Iraola first. A return to Italy is widely anticipated.


Joe Gomez

Following Ibrahima Konate‘s high-profile exit, a move away has become increasingly unlikely given the current lack of alternative centre-back options. He is entering the final year of his deal, meaning a surprisingly high offer could still turn the hierarchy’s head.

Alexis Mac Allister

Contracted until 2028, there is no compelling financial need to sell, but the lack of active talks suggests the club are open to testing the market. He has struggled physically at times but remains a player Iraola can heavily rely on.


Cody Gakpo

A move is not necessarily imminent, but the fact that he carries a price tag upwards of £60 million suggests the club are willing to sell for the right deal. He would require immediate replacing, as Liverpool are already short on dynamic attacking options.


Stefan Bajcetic

Has been heavily besieged by a long-term hamstring injury, and with his contract expiring in 2027, this summer could present the last realistic opportunity to recoup a fee. However, his homegrown status could ultimately see him stay put.

Kostas Tsimikas

With Robertson departing and Milos Kerkez the only standing senior left-back, this is an exit that would only be sanctioned if a direct replacement is lined up first. He is another player out of contract next summer.

Calvin Ramsay

Was brutally cast aside during Arne Slot‘s tenure. While he will hope Iraola hands him a clean slate during pre-season, a permanent move to resurrect his career could be the best solution for all parties.

Kaide Gordon

A bright young career that was unfortunately thwarted by ill-timed injuries. He is now expected to make a permanent exit having aged out of the academy, with a move to the Championship likely.

Luca Stephenson

The versatile midfielder impressed heavily on loan at Dundee United last season. League One side Bolton Wanderers are currently considered the frontrunners for his signature in a permanent deal worth around £700,000.
