According to the Times,

Alexander Isak moves out of Newcastle home as he seeks to force transfer

Striker has vacated property in North East amid push to leave, insisting he won’t play for club again, but Liverpool’s offer has fallen well short of valuation.

We’ve been on the end of this type of stuff for years, it’s part of the game.

Newcastle don’t have the cash to let him rot in the reserves, which means they will offload him.

As long as we stand firm on our valuation, he’ll sign in this window.

I agree we've also been on the end of similar things in the past (and recently infact), but I don't like it tbh. Considering the amount of money we're willing to pay, surely there are other good strikers out there we can get for a similar amount? Julian Alvarez or the like.

We’re doing a Real Madrid  :grinning:

To be fair 150m is too much. He was second in the golden boot last year. As Carra says, it’s Mbappe money. They bought him for 70 and he doesn’t want to play there any more. He probably moved out because he was getting stick by the locals.

Newcastle and the media have built this Isak transfer up so much that it's gotten very toxic. We showed interest, and put a bid in which was rejected, then we walked away.

Isak wants the move obviously.. and who can blame him. Hes ambitious, and these moves only come around once in a players career.

Newcastles inability to sign anyone to replace him has been the issue, and that's what's infuriated him to take all these kinds of actions.

We've had it happen loads over the years Macca, Torres, Mascherano, Countinho, Suarez, Sterling .. just to name a few. Its frustrating, but it's nothing new. Newcastle are acting like the first ever victim of "Player power"

Regarding Alverez, he was homesick while he was at City, that's why he left for Madrid..  so there's no way he'd come back.

I don't see many other ST options who's available apart from Isak.

Liverpool are one step away from signing Giovanni Leoni from Parma after reaching an agreement with the young defender.
Mirror Football reported on Tuesday that the Reds want to sign Leoni and Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi to bolster their defense

A lot of reputable sources saying the Italian kid is a done deal, £26m plus some add-ons. Don't know anything about this kid but apparently he's very highly rated by Edwards. At 18 years of age and only a couple of dozen games played on a professional level, he looks like one for the future. We'll still need Guehi IMO.

He’s 6’5”, he’s good on the ball, great in the air, quick and wants to emulate VVD. Italians think he’s the future for the an Italian team in defense.

Fingers crossed.

Looks more that good in the youtube link posted by Kazza .
BUT !
Maybe my memories gone  ? , I just can't remember an Italian player that has shone for us. They (Italians) seem to do well in London based clubs , Chelsea in particular but apart from Ravanelli who played for Middlesboro I'm hard pressed to think of an Italian player who's impressed when playing outside of the capital.

Good luck to the lad, but not holding my breath here, just wondering if 2-3 years down the line he'll still be with us.
