Liverpool Football Club - Games

Team to play Aston Villa: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Quansah, Van Dijk, Gomez, Endo, Mac Allister, Elliott, Salah, Gakpo, Diaz

Solid XI- let's smash them and then Wolves at home to give Klopp a positive send off ...

We've been poor. Lucky to get a gial after their keeper howler.

But since they equalised, we've been on the back foot.

1-3, we've grown into the game but defence is still all over the place.

2-3 and Nunez scores, but guess what? He's offside.

Nunez goal is chalked off for offside. He starts his run one yard ahead and by the time he scores he’s 4 yards ahead…. Meaning he doesn’t have to be a yard offside  :veryangry

The subs that came on were so lazy!! Elliott, Gakpo, Endo Diaz all put a shift in. Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Nunez and Jones came on jogging around like the job was done.. so idle all of them.

No wonder Klopps put them all on the bench.. all underachievied this season, and all let him down once again.

We need to offload loads of players this summer, and get some lads in who'll fight for the shirt.

Game fell apart when we took Endo off and pushed Mac in to defensive midfield.

We are clearly still a team in transition, there is still a lot more work that needs to be done on this team before it is any way comparable to the one that won our first league title in 30 years and took us to 3 CL finals in 6 years

Complete lack of leadership, Hendo would have given them a roasting.

It's not just bad finishing that has been the problem this season but conceding as well. 3 goals away at Villa should be enough to win the game. Also, this is apparently our worse run of consecutive games without keeping a clean sheet since 1998. Considering we've had some Sh*t years between now and then I'd say that's a pretty bad stat.

The commentator on Sky mentioned a similar stat during the game. In terms of cold hard numbers we haven’t shipped shedloads but there’s been a steady unrelenting trickle of goals particularly early ones which we haven’t been able to  stem all season which has often put us on the back foot and resulted in us chasing a hell of a  lot of games. Can’t keep doing that week in week out, sooner or later it’s going to catch up with you.
Stats about points won from a losing position are a bit of a double edged sword, when you top the league in that category it begs the question why are you failing behind so often?
