Leeds UTD Vs Liverpool Sun 12th Sept @16.30

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby red till i die!! » Thu Sep 09, 2021 9:20 pm

Thankfully that international break is over and we can get back to business for a few weeks till the next one

Anyway this is a big one and away from home too. Think we have an injury or 2 and it's looking like that ban will rule out Ali, Fab and Firmino. Bobby might be injured anyway.

I'd go with.
                                 Kelleher.
Trent           Virgil                  Matip       Robbo.

                Keita          Hendo    Thiago

            Salah           Jota          Mane.

Think it will be tough but hopefully we have enough quality to get the result.

Klopp has confirmed that Firmino and Minamino are out injured and Milner is a TBC. Apart from that I think we have a clean bill of health. Klopp also confirmed that Elliott is fit after picking up a knock on England U21 duty and Keita has arrived safely back in the country and is fine for the weekend. We'll have to wait to see what happens with Alisson and Fabinho but it would surprise me if it isn't resolved. We'll have the same issue in October and November. If they aren't available then Kelleher will come in for Alisson and Henderson will take Fabinho's spot at the base of the midfield.

Can't see van Djik playing all of the next 3 games so expect Gomez to feature in at least one of them. We now go from 1 game a week to a game every 3 days so we should start to see some rotation in the coming weeks.

My hatred for Leeds goes back a very long way. Their supporters are amongst the biggest collection of sh1theads in football. Recent evidence doesn’t suggest they have changed a lot which is a real shame because they have a very good manager and play some great football. This won’t be easy and we will need to be at our best. Elland Road is an awful place to go !!

This season is looking like a tight battle so we need to keep up, can’t win it now but you can probably lose it. We need to put our marker down in this match just to keep up with the other teams. We need a 4-0 to go first which is a tough ask but if they play man to man we should have more than enough as our players are better.

LIVERPOOL TEAM NEWS

Team to play Leeds: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Robertson, Van Dijk, Matip, Fabinho, Thiago, Elliott, Mane, Jota, Salah.

Subs: Kelleher, Konate, Milner, Keita, Gomez, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, Tsimikas.

Attacking line up - surprised to see Elliott start ahead of Hendo....must mean we are going for the jugular- 3-0 to the men in Red.

Think it will be tough but hopefully it's not. With any luck we will take an early lead and put it to bed early in the second.

C'mon the pool  :buttrock
