it's true though , the boo boys may still remain Liverpool fans if we were to turn into a medocre side, but they would no longer support the club with any passion or really be bothered what happens.

I didn't live in the 70's but I imagine whwn Nottingham Forest won the Eurpean Cup[ their fan base was a hell of a lot bigger than it is today.

Very true about Forest ....However they only have a 22,000 capacity stadium and never had the worldwide support a team like LFc have.

I applaud Leon's attempts to instill a poitive spirit amoungst the Kop contingent but as one who sits on the Kop every fortnight I don't see or hear too many like leon there   ???

I fail to understand that, I live in australia yet I know if i sat on the kop week in week out (hopefully in a few years I will be) I would be singing my lungs out and cherring all the lads out on the pitch. I would come away from Anfield hoarse evry week.

Yet there are people on the kop (some probably scousers) who don't share the same passion?  :suspect:

Underneath the Scoreboard in the corner , theres a fair few "maddies" there from Kirkby I think who try and get the singing going and often take the rest of the Kop with them but lets be honest mate , unless we are winning or playing the mancs the Kop hardly raise a whisper :(

Thats why i prefer Away games, only 3000 or so of us but sing your head off and love every minute :D :)

I struggle too to understand mate but its the reality except when we are winning or playing the mancs :(

Couldn't agree more, the atmosphere has been garbage for years now lad.

I am sitting next to Peter Evo this season, a mad red who has written a fair few books about his time on the Kop. Him and the lads around have a good old sing song, so its good in Block 205.

We get tickets for the "signing corner" for Cup and European games. the one in the other side by the Main stand. That mad lad with the long arms sings all game, but all in all the Kop died as a noise a few years back.

ah true, the old standing kop - it will never be the same again.

there is actaully a survey i got through my e-mail from www.footballfanscensus.com about re-instilling stand up areas in football grounds around the UK.

I will put the link on here if you are interested leon.
