Liverpool v Brighton 25/8. K. O. 17.30pm

Liverpool Football Club - Games

Postby Ghost of Shankly » Thu Aug 23, 2018 5:32 pm

Brighton will be well up for this, after going 2-0 up and then beating the Mancs last week. Will it be harder than our last game versus Palace though?  I'm doubting it.

Klopp may opt for an unchanged side again, maybe he will swap Hendo for Milner and Matip for Gomez, or maybe slotting Fabinho in there somewhere also. Other than that, I can see him sticking with the same line up.

Prediction 3-0 to us, and hopefully another clean sheet.

I think alot of the starting 11 so far have worked their socks off in the first 2 games. I'd like to start with Hendo/Fabino/Keita midfield and then introduce Shaqiri as a impact sub.

I'd be tempted to start Studge over Firmino, I thinks he's looked abit sluggish so far this season.

Firmino and Salah haven't looked 100% fit this season. I'd be tempted to start Sturidge and Shaqiri given we're playing Brighton at Anfield

Probably be the same side. One word that Klopp uses quite often is "rhythm". There won't be much if any fatigue involved as there has been four days since the Palace game. Might be a tactical change in midfield but I doubt and the likes of Salah and Firmino should play. There won't be any real rotation until the Champions League starts in mid September.

I also expect the same team. Maybe we'd see Hendo in midfield instead of Gini/Milner, but that's about it.

Brighton will be full of confidence after beating the shyte house so I'm expecting a tough encounter.

I would like to see Shaqiri given a start.

You would on paper expect a tough game, but I'm sure we blitzed them 0-5 away last term, and that was with a dodgy defence and GK. I can't see anything other than an easy win.

I also agree with others that Sturridge should start ahead of Firmino.

They won't take the bubble wrap off Studge until the last 15 minutes as usual.

Shaqattack would be a good idea.

Alisson

AA
Gomez
VVD
Robbo

Hendo
Gini
Keita

Mane
Mo
Shaq

Bobby has looked a bit flat ( yet still doing his normal working his socks off ) , nice to see Mo through the middle but also swapping with Mane. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Fabinho start instead of Gini but it’s good to have so many options available

Prediction Time folks.

I'm going for a good 3-0 to the mighty reds, Salah, Mane and Studge goals, with another clean sheet!

Can see it being 4 nil - one for Mo and a couple for Mane and then Bobby getting one from the bench

City have just drawn against Wolves so we have an opportunity to go 2 points clear of them this evening.
